Analysis of the genetic relationships from different genetic systems between the amylose content and the appearance quality of indica rice across environments Genet. Mol. Biol.

The genetic relationships between amylose content (AC) and appearance quality traits of indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) were investigated using conditional analysis and unconditional analysis in present experiment. The results from the unconditional analysis indicated that AC of rice positively correlated with brown rice (BR, i.e., dehulled but unmilled rice) length (BRL), width (BRW) and thickness (BRT), but was negatively correlated with the ratio of length to width (RLW). The conditional analysis showed that weight of brown rice (WBR) negatively affected the genetic relationships between AC and the appearance quality traits of rice except between AC and BRW, while the genetic relationships between AC and most appearance quality traits were negatively...

Physical properties of yellow alkaline noodles from near-isogenic wheat lines with different Wx protein deficiency OAK

This paper reports the results of a study of the relationship among the amylose content of flours and the physical properties, such as the texture, of yellow alkaline noodles (YAN) prepared from these flours. For this purpose, we used eight types of near-isogenic flours with different Wx protein deficiency under the Chinese Spring genetic background. With the use of the near-isogenic lines, it was possible to achieve similar flour characteristics, with the exception of the amylose content of starch in YAN, and to analyze clearly the effects of the amylose content on the physical properties of YAN. The conservation, sustainable evaluation and use of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) genetic resources are essential to the development of new commercial varieties. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of cassava roots and to estimate genetic variation and clustering in cassava germplasm using the Affinity Propagation algorithm (AP), which is based on the concept of "message passing" between data points. AP finds "exemplars" of each group and members of the input set representative of clusters.
