Se probó el enraizado de estacas, acodo aéreo e injerto para clonar genotipos de un huerto semillero de P. leiophylla, putativamente resistentes al ataque de Dendroctonus sp. y Toumeyella pinicola Ferris. y que además muestran las mejores características fenotipicas. Con el primer método se clonó a la progenie, mientras que los otros métodos se desarrollaron para clonar a los árboles madre. En el enraizado de estacas se evaluó el efecto del substrato, tipo de estaca y concentración de ácido indolbutírico (AIB). Background: Cyclamen persicum is an economically important ornamental crop that is propagated exclusively through seeds as vegetative propagation using cuttings is not possible. Therefore a micropropagation method through somatic embryogenesis is of high interest; however the method suffers from low reliability concerning quality and quantity of the produced plantlets. A crucial step of the protocol is the removal of plant growth regulators (PGRs) that triggers embryo development. This long-term study demonstrates for the first time that it is possible to propagate embryogenic cultures in pelargoniums and to subsequently initiate the differentiation of embryos using the cultivar Madame Layal (Pelargonium x domesticum). Propagation of callus was only possible with combinations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), which gave rise to embryos from the primary culture stage on. However, the propagation of cells, as well as the differentiation of embryos, was inhibited by a continuous application of these growth regulators. Abstract Auxin regulates a plethora of events during plant growth and development, acting in concert with other phytohormones. YUCCA genes encode flavin monooxygenases that function in tryptophan-dependent auxin biosynthesis. To understand the contribution of the YUCCA4 (YUC4) gene on auxin homeostasis, plant growth and interaction with abscisic acid (ABA) signaling, 35S::YUC4 seedlings were generated, which showed elongated hypocotyls with hyponastic leaves and changes in root system architecture that correlate with enhanced auxin responsive gene expression. O pau-de-leite (Sapium glandulatum (Vell.) Pax., Euphorbiaceae) é uma árvore nativa de vários biomas brasileiros, com grande interesse para a recuperação de ecossistemas degradados devido à sua rusticidade e ornitocoria intensa. Contudo, sua propagação sexuada é difícil, uma vez que a maioria das flores é masculina e a porcentagem de germinação das sementes é muito baixa. ABSTRACT: The hormesis effect of 2,4-D, applied at two stages of soybean development, on the physiological components of crop yield, was investigated. Soybean seeds of the cultivar ‘AG 3680 IPRO’ were sown in pots containing 7 L of a substrate and kept in a greenhouse. A randomized complete block design with four replicates was used. Eighteen treatments were tested, arranged in a split-plot scheme. Propagation of the fig tree predominately uses hardwood cuttings obtained from pruning stock plants. With a view to optimising fig tree propagation, the effects of auxin and misting on the rooting of herbaceous and hardwood cuttings from the fig tree were evaluated. An experiment was set up in a 2x2x2 factorial design, with two types of cuttings (softwood and hardwood), two levels of auxin (0 and 1000 mg L-1 indolbutyric acid) and two environments (with and without misting). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the application of plant growth regulator on gas exchange in A. emarginata seedlings subjected to different NaCl concentrations. We evaluated the gas exchange in A. emarginata seedlings subject to the presence and absence of plant growth regulator consisting of kinetin, gibberellic acid, and indolbutyric acid and three concentrations of NaCl (0 mM, 50 mM, and 100 mM). Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a resposta rizogênica in vitro de ápices caulinares de plantas jovens de mamoeiro ‘Tainung 01’, em diferentes tempos de permanência em meios de indução e regeneração. O meio de indução empregado foi o MS, suplementado com complementos orgânicos constituídos de sacarose, mio-inositol, tiamina, piridoxina, ácido nicotínico, além de AIB. O meio de regeneração diferiu do meio de indução por ser desprovido de AIB.
