Variations in The Vascular Supply of Pancreas and Transverse Colon: A Case Report International Journal of Morphology
Silva Júnior,L. M; Alexandre,M; Gonçalves,L; Silva,F. S; Caetano,A. G.
During anatomical dissection of the abdominal cavity of an adult male corpse, a changing pattern of vascular supply of pancreas and of the transverse colon was observed. The inferior pancreatic artery and the middle colic artery arose from a common trunk of the superior mesenteric artery. Moreover, the lienal artery did not direct a dorsal branch to the neck of the pancreas, but rather sent two greater pancreatic arteries (proximal and distal) to the body of the gland and one caudal artery to the terminal portion of the pancreas. We also observed a large communicating branch between the proximal portion of the middle colic artery and the ascending branch of the left colic artery, previously described as artery of Moskowitz. Based on these data, clinical...

The Neurovascular Structures in the Triangular Space of the Upper Limb: An Anatomical Study International Journal of Morphology
Lee,Mi-Sun; Kwon,Seongoh; Lee,Je-Hun.
The aim of this study was to investigate the neuromuscular distribution after passing through the triangular space of the shoulder. Thirty-five specimens from 18 adult Korean cadavers (12 males and 6 females, age ranging from 42-102 years) were used in the study. This study analyzed the order in which the artery entered the muscle from that point the artery passed through the triangular space. The incidence of the first branch of the circumflex scapular artery was 11.4 % for infraspinatus, 5.7 % for teres major, 25.7 % for teres minor, 20.1 % for long head of biceps brachii, 25.7 % for subscapularis, and 11.4 % for subcutaneous tissue. This study investigated the incidence of lack of blood supply from the artery in the triangular space. This incidence was...

A Novel Path of Communication from Kidney to the Adrenal Gland in Bactrian Camels (Camelus bactrianus) International Journal of Morphology
Ye,Wenling; Wang,Fengling; Lv,Shuangyu; Wang,Yange; Dong,Shuo; Wang,Jianlin.
The adrenal gland is an important endocrine organ in vertebratesthat produces a wide variety of hormones. The anatomical results showed that the adrenal gland in Bactrian camel had a typical blood supply and innervation. Surprisingly, we found that there was a novel connection mainly consisted of fibrous tissue, blood vessels and nerve bundles between the adrenal gland and the kidney in Bactrian camel, and we named it fibrous tissue-blood vessels-nerve bundles (FBN bundle). To the best of our knowledge, this FBN bundle was the first reported in Bactrian camel, and not yet observed in other animals. While, its functions and mechanisms should be studied further. We speculated that a direct function of this novel path might be to strengthen the communication...
