From the Phylogeny of the Satyrinae Butterflies to the Systematics of Euptychiina (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae): History, Progress and Prospects Neotropical Entomology
Marín,MA; Peña,C; Freitas,AVL; Wahlberg,N; Uribe,SI.
We review the various proposals of evolutionary and classification schemes for Satyrinae and particularly Euptychiina butterflies, assessing progress and prospects of research for the group. Among the highlights is the proposal to include Morphini, Brassolini and Amathusiini as part of Satyrinae. Although it is clear that this hypothesis requires further investigation, phylogenetic studies recently conducted recover this clade as part of Satyrinae with high support. The phylogenetic analyses for Euptychiina carried out to date recover the monophyly of the group and have identified a variety of genera as non-monophyletic. Further work is necessary to resolve the position of the subtribe and the evolutionary relationships of several genera.

Notas sistemáticas sobre Brassolinae: I. Tribos (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) Zoologia
Casagrande,Mirna Martins.
A revised classification for the Neotropical subfamily Brassolinae based on the morphological study of seventy six of the eighty one know species (Stichel, 1932), divided the subfamily in two tribos, according to the following list: Brassolini Boisduval, 1836 including forteen genera: Brassolis Fabricius, 1807 (type genus): Caligo Hübner, 1819. Penetes Doubleday. 1849; Dynastor Doubleday, 1849; Opsiphanes Doubleday. 1849; Dasyophthalma Westwood. 1851; Eryphanis Boisduval. 1870; Opoptera Aurivillius, 1882; Selenophanes Staudinger. 1887; Catoblepia Stichel, 1902; Caligopsis Seydel, 1924; Mielkella Casagrande, 1982; Orobrassolis Casagrande, 1982, and Mimoblepia Casagrande, 1982, Naropini Stichel, 1925 including two genera: Narope Doubleday, 1849 (type genus)...

Naropini Stichel, taxonomia e imaturos (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Brassolinae) Zoologia
Casagrande,Mirna M..
A systematic study of Naropini (Stichel, 1925) Casagrande, 1996 is presented. The species of this tribe occur exclusively in the Neotropical Region. All the known species of Aponarope Casagrande, 1982, and Narope Doubleday, [1849] are redescribed, new species are described and all of them are illustrated. Immatures of Narope cyllene C. Felder & R. Felder, 1859 are redescribed. Head chaetotaxy of the first instar larva is illustrated with electron micrographies. Both, the head and body chaetotaxy of this instar is also interpreted. The following are new species: Narope minor Casagrande, Oaxaca, Mexico; Panama, Veraguas, Panama; San Jose, Costa Rica. - Narope obidos Casagrande, Pará, Mato Grosso, Espírito Santo, Brazil; Madre de Dios, Peru. - Narope...
