The GERMON project had several aims i) to understand the populations’ structure between albacore tuna southwest of the Indian Ocean and southeast Atlantic, ii) to determine the origin of juveniles observed in South Africa iii) to improve the understanding of the biology field (Size/Size and Size/Weight; reproduction and feeding area; trophic linkages) and iv) to initiate work on chemical analyzes and adaptation of the albacore species to its environment. These aims have been held and the results allow a better understanding of the management albacore. A general summary of results is presented in Part 9. |

ABSTRACT The present study aimed to evaluate the physical, chemical, and microbiological characteristics of 4 different poultry waste (dead birds, hatchery waste, offal, and a mixture of all) processed under two composting systems (bin and windrow). For this purpose, 12 compost bins and 12 windrow piles having different poultry waste were placed according to 2 × 4 factorial arrangements under Completely Randomized Design. Treatments consisted of 2 composting systems (bin and windrow) and 4 compost types (dead birds, offal, hatchery waste, and a mixture of all). The bins were comprised of 3 compartments (primary, secondary, and curing) and filled with dead birds, offal, hatchery waste, and a mixture of all. A similar procedure was adopted for the windrow... |

Properties of a claim loam soil, collected in Aranjuez (Madrid) and enriched with organic matter and microorganisms, were evaluated under controlled temperature and moisture conditions, over a period of three months. The following treatments were carried out: soil (control); soil + 50 t ha-1 of animal manure (E50); soil + 50 t ha-1 of animal manure + 30 L ha-1 of effective microorganisms (E50EM); soil + 30 t ha-1 of the combination of various green crop residues and weeds (RC30) and soil + 30 t ha-1 of the combination of various green crop residues and weeds + 30 L ha-1 of effective microorganisms (RC30EM). Soil samples were taken before and after incubation and their physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters analyzed. Significant increase was... |

Abstract In order to test the use of ammonia thiosulfate (ATS) in the chemical thinning of the Japanese plum tree, a field experiment was conducted throughout the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 crop growing seasons at Ponta Grossa, PR, Brazil. The experimental design adopted herein was a randomized block design (RBD). During the 2015/2016 season, the trial was comprised of two accesses and six treatments, such as T1 (control); T2 (ATS 4%); T3 (ATS 5%); T4 (ATS 6%); T5 (ATS 7%) and T6 (manual thinning) with four replications. During the 2016/2017 season, solely one plum tree access was taken into account along with six treatments, such as T1 (control); T2 (ATS 6%); T3 (ATS 7%); T4 (ATS 8%); T5 (ATS 9%) and T6 (manual thinning) and four replications. The... |
