Forage cactus-sorghum intercropping at different irrigation water depths in the Brazilian Semiarid Region PAB
Diniz,Wellington Jairo da Silva; Silva,Thieres George Freire da; Ferreira,Jadna Mylena da Silva; Santos,Djalma Cordeiro dos; Moura,Magna Soelma Beserra de; Araújo,Gherman Garcia Leal de; Zolnier,Sérgio.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the productive performance, biological efficiency, and the competitive ability of the forage cactus-sorghum intercropping under different irrigation depths with saline water in the Brazilian Semiarid Region. The experiment was carried out in Serra Talhada, in the state of Pernambuco, between 2014 and 2015, in a randomized complete block design, with four replicates, and a 5x3 factorial arrangement in split plots, with one year of forage cactus cycle and two years of sorghum cycles. The plots were composed by four irrigation water depths based on the fractions of 25, 50, 75, and 100% of the reference evapotranspiration, besides dry conditions; and the subplots consisted of three cropping systems (single...

Morphophysiogenetic characterization of wild poinsettia biotypes with low resistance to glyphosate PAB
Agostinetto,Dirceu; Ulguim,André da Rosa; Vargas,Leandro; Silva,Jessica Dias Gomes da; Langaro,Ana Claudia.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to compare wild poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla) biotypes as to their morphological characteristics, as well as to determine their genetic similarity in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and to confront the light compensation point of susceptible biotypes and of biotypes with low-resistance level to glyphosate. Besides the morphology analysis, the study included the genetic characterization, by AFLP, of susceptible (GR50= 58.65 g ha-1 a.e.) biotypes and of biotypes with low resistance (GR50= 310.36 g ha-1 a.e.) to glyphosate. The competitive ability of the biotypes was inferred according to their light compensation point. The observed morphological characteristics do not allow to differentiate biotypes as...

Interference and Level of Economic Damage of Alexandergrass on Corn Planta Daninha
FRANDOLOSO,F.S.; GALON,L.; CONCENÇO,G.; ROSSETTO,E.R.O.; BIANCHESSI,F.; SANTIN,C.O.; FORTE,C.T..
ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to evaluate the interference and to determine the level of economic damage (NDE) of the weed when infesting the corn crop. Treatments were composed by corn densities (2.60, 3.10, 3.65, 4.00 and 4.80 plants m-1) and 10 Alexandergrass populations for each crop seeding density. The population of plants, leaf area, soil cover and shoot dry mass of Alexandergrass were evaluated as indicator of infestation. Shoot dry mass of Alexandergrass presents better adjustment to the model of rectangular hyperbole, and losses of grain yield due to interference of the weed were satisfactorily estimated by this model. Corn sowing densities of 2.60; 3.10 and 3.65 plants m-1 in average, were more competitive of all evaluated variables...

Weed interference on growth and yield of transgenic maize Planta Daninha
Faria,R.M.; Barros,R.E.; Tuffi Santos,L.D..
Plants kept under competition tend to modify their morphology to optimize the use of production factors. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of competition between transgenic maize and five weed species on the growth and yield of transgenic maize hybrid. The experiment used a randomized block design with four replicates in a factorial 5 x 2 + 6 scheme consisting of a combination of maize under competition with five weed species (Bidens pilosa, Commelina benghalensis, Brachiaria brizantha, Sorghum arundinaceum and Ipomoea triloba) in two weed densities (15 or 30 plants m-2) plus six treatments corresponding to maize and weed species without competition. All the means for dry matter accumulated by maize plants in the stem and leaf in the density of 15...

Photosynthetic characteristics of hybrid and conventional rice plants as a function of plant competition Planta Daninha
Concenço,G; Aspiazú,I; Galon,L; Ferreira,E.A; Freitas,M.A.M; Fialho,C.M.T; Schwanke,A.M.L; Ferreira,F.A; Silva,A.A.
The objective of this work was to evaluate the characteristics related to the photosynthetic ability of hybrid and inbred rice varieties, as a way to assess which of the two presented higher potential to stand out under conditions of competition. The trial was set in a greenhouse in completely randomized block design and 2 x 6 factorial scheme with four replications. Factor A consisted of rice varieties (hybrid or inbred) and factor B by competition levels. Treatments consisted in maintaining one plant of either BRS Pelota (inbred) or Inov (hybrid) variety at the center of the plot, under competition with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 plants of the variety BRS Pelota at the periphery of the experimental unit, according to the treatment. Fifty days after emergence...

Parâmetros da habilidade competitiva no estabelecimento de populações caracterizam o potencial de produção individual em trigo e aveia Rev. Bras. Bot.
SANTOS,HENRIQUE P.; MUNDSTOCK,CLAUDIO M..
