A phylogenetic study on Cossidae (Lepidoptera: Ditrysia) based on external adult morphology Naturalis
Schoorl, J.W..
A revised classification of the Cossidae is provided. Five cossid subfamilies, of which Chilecomadiinae is new, are recognized. The external adult morphology of many genera and species is described with special attention paid to the thoracic sclerites, including wing bases. Cladograms of the genera are proposed. In total 95 genera are recognized, of which the following 27 are new: Mirocossus, Hirtocossus, Alcterogystia, Planctogystia, Paracossulus, Brachygystia, Eogystia, Mormogystia, Semagystia, Eburgemellus, Relluna, Aramos, Voousia, Alophonotus, Bergaris, Rapdalus, Rugigegat, Pseudozeuzera, Paralophonotus, Hermophyllon, Cecryphalus, Tarsozeuzera, Brypoctia, Panau, Skeletophyllon, Trismelasmos and Aethalopteryx. Achterberg, C. van; Polaszek, A..
A review is given of the parasites (parasitoids) of the African cereal stem borers (including introduced species) belonging to the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera); 38 species belonging to 19 genera are keyed and treated. Three new species are described: Macrocentrus sesamivorus spec. nov. from Kenya, Somalia, and Zaïre (Macrocentrinae), Iphiaulax pilisoma spec. nov. from Senegal, and Amyosoma flavistigma spec. nov. from Australia (Braconinae). New synonyms are: Euglyptobracon Telenga, 1936, with Pseudovipio Szépligeti, 1896; Lorenzoa de Stefani-Perez, 1909, Kulczynskia Niezabitowski, 1910, and Chivinia Shestakov, 1932, with Bracon Fabricius, 1804; Euvipio Szépligeti, 1904, with Stenobracon Szépligeti, 1901; Glyptomorpha baetica var. mauretanica Szépligeti,...

Achterberg, C. van.
Three new genera of the Braconinae and one new genus of the Rogadinae (Braconidae) from the Oriental region are described and fully illustrated. Acrocerilia (type-species: A. pachynervis spec. nov. from the Philippines, parasite of cocoa-moth), Cordibraco (type-species: C. setorae spec. nov. from Sabah (Malaysia), parasite of Limacodidae on palms), Zeuzerilia (type-species: Z. tricolor spec. nov. from Sabah, parasite of Cossidae in cocoa-trees) and Darnilia (type-species: D. flagellars spec. nov., parasite of Limacodidae on coconut and oil palms).

The purpose of this work was to study the percentage of healthy trees, living trees and healthy branches and the renewal (natural propagation) of Caryocar brasiliense associated with the properties of soil, the floristic diversity and the canopy size of this plant. Lower proportions of live C. brasiliense trees and of healthy branches were found in the Savanna of Ibiracatu, where only 30% of the trees were healthy and without visible signs of attack by wood borers and by Phomopsis sp. We observed that C. brasiliense trees in areas where the soils contained higher levels of summed chemical bases and total sand (fine + gross) were less healthy. Moreover, the areas whose soils contained higher levels of aluminum and clay had a higher percentage of healthy C....
