Rice yield estimation based on weather conditions and on technological level of production systems in Brazil PAB
Monteiro,José Eduardo Boffino de Almeida; Azevedo,Letícia da Costa; Assad,Eduardo Delgado; Sentelhas,Paulo Cesar.
The objective of this work was to evaluate an estimation system for rice yield in Brazil, based on simple agrometeorological models and on the technological level of production systems. This estimation system incorporates the conceptual basis proposed by Doorenbos & Kassam for potential and attainable yields with empirical adjusts for maximum yield and crop sensitivity to water deficit, considering five categories of rice yield. Rice yield was estimated from 2000/2001 to 2007/2008, and compared to IBGE yield data. Regression analyses between model estimates and data from IBGE surveys resulted in significant coefficients of determination, with less dispersion in the South than in the North and Northeast regions of the country. Index of model...

การหาค่าสัมประสิทธ์ทางพันธุกรรมของแบบจำลอง CSM-CROPGRO-Soybean Model สำหรับถั่วเหลืองพันธุ์เชียงใหม่ 60 Thai Agricultural
Walaiporn Sasiprapa; Wirasak Tepchan; Raweewan Cheukittisak; Wibharat Damrikhemtakul; Nicha Pothong.
Objective of this study was to determine the genetic coefficient of soybean cv CM 60. CM 60 has broad adaptation and can be grown in both dry season and rainy season. It is still popular among soybean growers. The experiment was conducted during 2551-2552 at Chiang Mai Field Crops Research Center, Sukothai ARDC and Loie ARDC. Growth and development of the crop were studied. Data were recorded for growth characters and development characters vegetative phases and reproductive phases. The plants were harvested at V3, R1, R3, R5, R6, R7 and R8 growth stages and separated into stems leaves and seeds. Yield and yield components were also determined at final harvest. The data were used in determining genetic coefficient of CM 60 soybean cultivar using...

In Field Assessment on the Relationship between Photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR) and Global Solar Radiation Transmittance through Discontinuous Canopies Chilean J. Agric. Res.
Oyarzún,Ricardo; Stöckle,Claudio; Wu,Joan; Whiting,Matthew.
In many crop models, the process of radiation transmittance through the canopy is normally described as an exponential attenuation process (Beer’s Law equation), which is assumed to be valid for canopies covering the ground with a random spatial distribution of leaves. However, for discontinuous canopies, where a distinctive row pattern of plant exists, there is a more complex situation because of the presence of gaps between individual plants. This must be accounted for when characterizing radiation relationships for these kinds of systems, in particular when short time-scales are of interest. Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) transmittance (τPAR) is more commonly studied and reported than global solar radiation (Sg) transmittance...
