Dose-response curve to soil applied herbicides and susceptibility evaluation of different amaranthus species using model identity Planta Daninha
RAIMONDI,M.A.; OLIVEIRA J.R.,R.S.; CONSTANTIN,J.; RIOS,F.A.; GEMELLI,A.; RAIMONDI,R.T..
Greenhouse studies were conducted in 2008-2009 with the objective of adjusting dose-response curves of the main soil-applied herbicides currently used in cotton for the control of Amaranthus viridis, A. hybridus, A. spinosus, A. lividus, as well as comparing susceptibility among different species, using the identity test models. Thirty six individual experiments were simultaneously carried out in greenhouse, in a sandy clay loam soil (21% clay, 2.36% OM) combining increasing doses of the herbicides alachlor, clomazone, diuron, oxyfluorfen, pendimethalin, prometryn, S-metolachlor, and trifluralin applied to each species. Dose-response curves were adjusted for visual weed control at 28 days after herbicide application and doses required for 80% (C80) and 95%...

CROSS-RESISTANCE OF RICE FLATSEDGE TO ALS-INHIBITING HERBICIDES Planta Daninha
CHIAPINOTTO,D.M.; SCHAEDLER,C.E.; FERNANDES,J.P.S.; ANDRES,A.; LAMEGO,F.P..
ABSTRACT Cyperus iria (CYPIR) is one of the main weeds in irrigated rice crops. The intense chemical control with acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibiting herbicides favors the selection of cross-resistance. This study aimed to evaluate the crossresistance of CYPIR to ALS-inhibiting herbicides in irrigated rice in Rio Grande do Sul. Two experiments arranged in a factorial scheme, in a completely randomized design, with four replications were conducted. Experiment I consisted of resistant (CYPIR-R) and susceptible (CYPIR-S) biotypes and ALS-inhibiting herbicide doses: imazethapyr (106 g a.i. ha-1); pyrazosulfuron-ethyl (20 g a.i. ha-1); penoxsulam (36 g a.i. ha-1) and, as an alternative herbicide, bentazone (960 g a.i. ha-1); corresponding to 0; 1/16; 1/8;...

Low level resistance of goosegrass (Eleusine indica) to glyphosate in Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil Planta Daninha
Vargas,L.; Ulguim,A.R.; Agostinetto,D.; Magro,T.D.; Thürmer,L..
In the last growing seasons, goosegrass (Eleusine spp.) control failures have been observed following application of glyphosate on Roundup Ready® soybean in Rio Grande do Sul (RS) - Brazil, suggesting this species' resistance to the herbicide. Thus, the objectives of this study were to identify the occurrence of goosegrass resistance to the herbicide glyphosate in RS; and to determine the predominant species of the genus Eleusine, as well as the LD50 and GR50 of the suspected resistant biotypes. Two experiments were conducted under greenhouse conditions: one to identify the biotypes resistant to glyphosate, and the other, a dose-response curve experiment, as well as a study of the botanical characteristics of the species. In the first experiment, 39...
