| The complexity of values related to organic food systems is normally difficult to ascertain, understand and act upon for both producers and consumers, as well as for other agents. In this paper we have suggested MCA as a method that may help in coping with this complexity. Furthermore, we have pointed to the importance of addressing the challenge of motivation when designing such an MCA tool. In doing so, we have applied three very different concepts of motivation – an economic, a psycho-social and a relational concept. | Efforts to promote communication, learning, decision making and change of individual and/or collective practices in relation to sustainability issues require more or less explicit theories on agents and what motivate them to act. | Ziel des Projektes ist es, die gesetzlichen und privatrechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen für das Management von Pflanzenschutzmittelrückständen und Kontaminationen mit ubiquitären, persistenten Umweltschadstoffen bei Öko-Erzeugnissen zu klären und ein gezieltes Risikomanagement für Kontrollstellen und zuständige Behörden abzuleiten. | MultiTrust projektet har til formål at udvikle metoder til vurdering og kommunikation vedrørende de effekter som økologiske fødevaresystemer har på miljø, menneske og samfund. Hensigten hermed er dels at gøre de økologiske producenter bedre i stand til at udvikle økologien i overensstemmelse med de økologiske principper og i synergi med samfundets målsætninger, dels at gøre det lettere for forbrugere, borgere og politikere at sætte sig ind i og bedømme de forskelligartede bidrag som økologiske fødevaresystemer tilbyder. | This factsheet provides information on Machinery Rings; ‘not for profit’ co-operative societies of farmers and agricultural businesses who have the common aim of reducing machinery and labour costs. Supplier members benefit by spreading their machinery costs over a larger area; other members are able to reduce their capital investments in labour and machinery while at the same time having access to modern machinery when they need it. Machinery Rings provide the logistical and administrative structure to empower co-operation. They also act as an information hub and a signposting centre between members. |
