Neste relato apresentamos a experiência da construção de conhecimento agroecológico, desenvolvida na Embrapa Meio Ambiente, Jaguariúna-SP, realizada a partir de 2008. O trabalho contempla a criação e o desenvolvimento de um Núcleo de Agroecologia, interinstitucional e transdiciplinar, composto por pesquisadores, técnicos e agricultores. Demand is rising for organic vegetables in Vietnam. This poses many challenges for small-scale rural farmers who supply the Hanoi markets. Strict third party certification is well beyond their reach, both in terms of cost and technical ability. Organic participatory guarantee systems (PGS) offer an alternative through peer-review and social control, supporting appropriate farming practices, local market development, and social cohesion (Zanasi and Venturi 2008). Difundir los sistemas agroforestales (SAFs) en la cuenca del río Paraíba do Sul, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil, es el propósito de esfuerzo conjunto en Polo Regional/APTA, en Pindamonhangaba. Los SAFs se basan en consorcios de cultivos agrícolas, arbustos y árboles, aprovechando los mismos recursos (agua, luz y nutrientes). Für die Bewertung der Nachhaltigkeit auf der Ebene des Landwirtschaftsbetriebes liegen drei in der Schweiz entwickelte Methoden vor: RISE, SMART und SALCAsustain. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden die drei Methoden anhand eines Kriterienkatalogs und einiger konkreter Beispiele miteinander verglichen, mit dem Ziel, dem Leser, der Leserin die Entscheidung zu erleichtern, welches Tool für die eigene spezifische Anwendung und Zielgruppe am besten geeignet ist. Zwar verzeichnete der ökologische Landbau in Europa in den letzten Jahren hohe jährliche Zuwachsraten von durchschnittlich 25 %, in Deutschland einschließlich Sachsen war die Entwicklung bis Ende 2000 jedoch vergleichsweise sehr verhalten. Um das derzeit abschätzbare Potential des ökologischen Landbaus nutzen zu können, ist eine enorme Steigerung des bisherigen Wachstums der ökologisch bewirtschafteten Fläche auch in Sachsen erforderlich. Mobile phones are widespread in the rural areas of Mali and Burkina Faso, but their potential as a tool for knowledge transfer by extension services in the region remains largely unexplored. The aim of this contribution is to evaluate the potential of video on mobile phones as a tool for farmer-to-farmer exchange and agricultural extension in Western Africa's rural reality. This aim was addressed by interviewing 460 farmers in Mali and Burkina Faso. Third generation (3G) mobile phones with video and Bluetooth technology were found to be widespread in the study area. Entrepreneurship is considered a crucial dynamic force in the development of small businesses in general. In agriculture, entrepreneurship is particularly relevant because farmers need to find ways to adapt their businesses to the changing structural environment. A agroecologia é uma ciência em construção que surgiu da necessidade de repensar a forma de como o ser humano se relaciona com a natureza, assim como o sistema de produção de alimentos. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa buscou desenvolver conceitos e ferramentas da Agroecologia para auxiliar na reflexão das práticas cotidianas dos alunos do campo. Através da pesquisa participante, a pesquisa ocorreu em uma escola do campo junto aos jovens da 6ª série do ensino fundamental.
