In dem wachsenden Markt ökologischer Lebensmittel werden Methoden zur produktorientierten Qualitätserfassung gefordert. Dabei geht es u.a. um die Unterscheidung von Produkten aus unterschiedlichen Anbauverfahren. Die Ziele des Projektes waren daher: 1. ausgewählte ganzheitliche Methoden gemäß ISO 17025 zu validieren, d.h. Laborprozesse festzulegen, sowie Einflussgrößen und Verfahrensmerkmale zu bestimmen, 2. zu testen, ob diese Verfahren eine Differenzierung von definierten Proben statistisch abgesichert zeigen können. . Diese Ziele konnten erreicht werden. Es wurde bestätigt, dass einige der Methoden auf Grundlage dokumentierter Prozeduren Lebensmittel aus definierten Anbauversuchen (u.a. aus dem DOK-Versuch am FIBL/CH) reproduzierbar unterscheiden...

Vergleichende Bewertung mikrobiologisch-biochemischer Parameter zur Qualitätsbestimmung pflanzlicher Produkte anhand von Untersuchungen zu einem langjährigen Düngungsversuch Organic Eprints

Based on investigations with samples of a fertilization trial started in 1980, some parameters of storage ability are evaluated. Microbial infestation of the product during incubation seems to be the most reliable parameter. But the circumstances of infestation are as unknown as the optimal test conditions. There is no reliable correlation between results of degradation tests, storage tests under optimal conditions and chemical contents of the product. The quality concept of product vitality (product-oriented), i.e. a product full of vigour, based on results of degradation tests is discussed. Untersuchungen zur Qualität von Calendula-Samen mittels zeitaufgelöster Fluoreszenz-Anregungs-Spektroskopie Organic Eprints

Calendula-Samen aus konventionellem, kontrolliert biologischem und biologisch-dynamischem Anbau wurden mittels Fluoreszenz-Anregungs-Spektroskopie untersucht. Es zeigten sich signifikante Unterschiede, wobei die Samen aus konventionellem Anbau eine vegetative Charakteristik aufwiesen, während die beiden Proben aus biologischem Anbau eine samentypischere Charakteristik zeigten. Zwischen den beiden biologischen Proben bestand ein kleinerer, jedoch ebenfalls statistisch signifikanter Unterschied, wobei sich die Probe aus biologisch-dynamischem Anbau als die am deutlichsten samentypisch geprägte erwies. Die Untersuchungsmethode und das Bewertungsverfahren werden beschrieben.

Der kleine Unterschied - Die Qualität biologisch-dynamisch und biologisch erzeugter Produkte im Vergleich Organic Eprints

Auf der ersten wissenschaftlichen Konferenz über „Organic Food Quality and Health Research“ im Mai 2011 in Prag resümierte eine Wissenschaftlerin über die Bioqualitätsforschung, es gäbe tausende von Untersuchung über wertgebende und wertmindernde Substanzen, nur wenige Dutzend über Biomarker (z. B. Tierversuche) und fast keine über Gesundheitswirkungen. Ein anderer Forscher stellte auf der Tagung fest, dass von den 140 Tagungsbeiträgen kaum einer verarbeitete Lebensmittel behandelte. Diese Aussagen sind sinngemäß auch auf die Forschung über die Qualität biologisch dynamischer Lebensmittel zu übertragen. On the way to a new systemic research approach for organic food quality and health More than 50 researchers and supporters of the organic food sector met at the 1st scientific FQH conference from November 28th to 29th at the FQH research member institution FIBL in Frick (Switzerland). A New Phytochemical Screening Programme used for Crops grown with Organic and Conventional Methods Organic Eprints

A broad screening programme, covering the most general phytochemical groups of compounds, was developed on the basis of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). A total of 46 TLC systems, comprising 26 derivatization reagents, 3 stationary phases, and 4 mobile phases, were included. The TLC systems were classified according to the groups of phytochemical compounds detected: Alcohols and phenolic compounds; Carbohydrates; N-containing compounds; Organic acids and lipids; P-containing compounds; S-containing compounds, and Terpenoids. Furthermore, one group of TLC systems detected compounds from several of the mentioned groups. Validierung: Charakterisierte Methoden für klare Fragen Organic Eprints

Validation means to proof if a laboratory method is able to answer a question from the customer or not. For validation procedures the question has to be specific to be answered and the method has to be characterised. The growing organic market needs methods which allow the characterisation of the food. Therefore methods have to be developed which reflect the systemic approach in organic agriculture. First of all these methods shall differentiate food products grown and processed organically from those derived from other production processes. Moreover for product oriented quality control the quality criteria and their limits have to be defined within the organic market.

At coded samples of wheat out of the DOK-trial of FiBL (Switzerland) it was possible to identify the organic and conventional grown variants. The method used was fluorescence-excitation-spectroscopy of whole samples. It was also possible to show differences between biodynamic and organic variants.

A procedure for the differentiation and identification of organic versus conventional grown crop is described. The validated (ISO 17025) procedure is based on the precise Determination of the N-Metabolom of the cultivated plant. With this procedure it was possible to distinguish organically from conventionally grown crops.
