Рассмотрена многолетняя динамика содержания жира у шпрота и анчоуса Чёрного моря как индикаторов обеспеченности пищей в связи с температурой воды, концентрацией фитопланктона, величинами запасов и уловов этих рыб. Глобальным климатическим фактором, оказывающим прямое и косвенное влияние на обеспеченность мелких пелагических рыб Чёрного моря пищей, является температура. Региональные факторы, воздействующие на состояние шпрота и анчоуса, – пищевая конкуренция, речной сток и загрязнение водной среды.

Physiological responses of female and male black-lip pearl oysters (Pinctada margaritifera) to different temperatures and concentrations of food ArchiMer

This study was designed to measure responses of four-year-old black-lip pearl oysters (Pinctada margaritifera) to different temperatures and food concentrations and to identify the energy requirements of each sex. Oysters were fed a monospecific microalgal diet of Isochrysis affinis galbana (T-iso). Measurements of oxygen consumption and ingestion rates were carried out at 24 degrees C and 27 degrees C and at two algal (T-iso) concentrations: 5000 and 30 000 cell ml(-1). Glycogen content in adductor muscle, absorption efficiency and scope for growth were also estimated. Techniques for delivery of arachidonic acid to Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas, spat ArchiMer

The present study tested two techniques for dietary supplementation of Crassostrea gigas spat with PUFA, such as arachidonic acid (AA). The first technique consisted of a preliminary enrichment and growth of an algal concentrate (T-ISO, Isochrysis sp.) with AA dissolved in an ethanol solution, the whole culture then being fed to the spat. This enrichment increased the AA weight percentage in T-ISO neutral and polar lipids from 0.6 to 22.4% and from 0.4 to 6.8%, respectively. Modelling the spatial heterogeneity of ecological processes in an intertidal estuarine bay: dynamic interactions between bivalves and phytoplankton ArchiMer

Spatial patterns in ecological communities result from a combination of physical and biological factors. In an estuarine intertidal bay, spatial differences have been found in the structure of phytoplanktonic communities and in the biological performance of cultivated oysters. It has been hypothesised that trophic heterogeneity exists, although the mechanisms controlling it remain undefined. Multi-decadal changes in two co-occurring ophiuroid populations ArchiMer

Mixed beds of Ophiocomina nigra and Ophiothrix fragilis (Echinodermata, Ophiuroidea) are usually predominated by O. fragilis and are reported to be stable over time. The Bay of Brest (Brittany, France) is a highly productive ecosystem where both species co-occur in the main central part. Using a geostatistical approach, we tested for changes in O. nigra and O. fragilis density and total biomass patterns between 1987 and 2011. Our results highlighted an increase in O. nigra population size and the induction of a spatial shift of the co-occurring O. fragilis. Agriculture, Population, Land and Water Scarcity in a Changing World – The Role of Irrigation AgEcon

Fertile land and fresh water constitute two of the most fundamental resources for food production. These resources are affected by environmental, political, economic, and technical developments. Regional impacts may transmit to the world through increased trade. With a global forest and agricultural sector model, we quantify the impacts of increased demand for food due to population growth and economic development on potential land and water use. In particular, we investigate producer adaptation regarding crop and irrigation choice, agricultural market adjustments, and changes in the values of land and water.
