Key locations for soybean genotype assessment in Central Brazil PAB
Pacheco,Roberto Miranda; Duarte,João Batista; Souza,Plínio Itamar Mello de; Silva,Sérgio Abud da; Nunes Junior,José.
The objective of this work was to identify key locations for the establishment of soybean (Glycine max) genetic breeding programs, in the Central Region of Brazil. Grain yield data of three maturity groups of soybean genotypes, from regional trials conducted over three years, at 18 locations in Brazilian Cerrado were used. A key location for the early phases of the breeding program was defined as the site that best classifies the winning genotypes in the region. Key locations for the final phases were defined as those sites that best represent each environmental stratum, in relation to the adaptability of the respective winning genotype. This adaptability was estimated by additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model analysis, using the...

Adaptability and stability of Coffea canephora Pierre ex Froehner genotypes in the Western Amazon Ciência Rural
Moraes,Marcos Santana; Rocha,Rodrigo Barros; Teixeira,Alexsandro Lara; Espindula,Marcelo Curitiba; Silva,Camila Andrade; Lunz,Aureny Maria Pereira.
ABSTRACT: The development of Coffea canephora cultivars is based on the characterization of genotype × environment interaction, which is interpreted to quantify the differential behavior of clones at different cultivation sites. The objective of this research was to study the genotype x environment interaction aiming to select clones of broad and specific adaptation to different environments of the Western Amazon. Twelve clones with hybrid characteristics of the botanical varieties Conilon and Robusta and four open pollinated clones, had their performance evaluated in comparison with four controls. The genotype × environment interaction was interpreted based on the environmental quality index, the non-parametric estimator of Lin and Binns, 1988 and on the...
