Physiological and agronomic traits of cabbage plants hybrid Fuyutoyo ® sprayed with plant growth regulators Horticultura Brasileira
Zeist,André R; Piva,Rafael; Resende,Juliano TV; Silva,Israel FL; Athanázio,João C; Rodrigues,João D.
ABSTRACT In this study we aimed to evaluate the effect of using the mixture of plant growth regulators auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin in the physiological behavior and productive components of cabbage plants hybrid Fuyutoyo®. The experimental design was completely randomized, with four replications, evaluating five doses of the mixture of plant growth regulators, in the form of the commercial product Stimulate® (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mL p.c./100 L H2O). The spray applications of plant growth regulators started when the plants presented 7-8 expanded leaves, carried out fortnightly, totaling five applications along the cycle. The authors evaluated gas exchange measures; fresh mass, diameter and firmness of “heads”; and number of leaves. The study...

Physiologic parameters of soybean of determinate and indeterminate growth habit subjected to levels of soil moisture PAB
Machado Júnior,Carlos Sebastião; Silva,Cláudio Ricardo da; Sanches,Maria Cristina; Hamawaki,Osvaldo Toshiyuki; Sousa,Larissa Barbosa de.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the physiological and production parameters of soybean (Glycine max) cultivars of determinate and indeterminate growth habits, in three levels of soil moisture. Three cultivars of determinate growth habit and three of indeterminate growth, at the beginning of the reproductive stage, were subjected to three levels of soil moisture: control, moisture at field capacity; moderated, 50% of the control level; and severe, 25% of the control level. Leaf gas exchange, xylem-water potential, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll a fluorescence, plant dry matter, and grain yield per plant were evaluated. The cultivars of indeterminate growth habit showed the greatest values for stomatal conductance and CO2 assimilation...

Chitosan application in the induction of water deficit tolerance in maize plants Agronomy
Almeida, Lorena Gabriela; Magalhães, Paulo César; Karam, Décio; Silva, Eder Marcos da; Alvarenga, Amauri Alves.
The present research seeks to elucidate the feasibility of chitosan (CHT) in the induction of water deficit tolerance in different maize hybrids, contrasting tolerance to water restriction, tolerance and sensitivity. The maize plants were subjected to water deficit and foliar application of different chitosan doses (60, 100, 140, and 180 mg L-1) at the pre-flowering growth stage and evaluated during the stress period of fifteen days. To understand the induction behaviour of the tolerance to water restriction, biophysical parameters, such as water potential, relative water content and chlorophyll content, gas exchange, and biochemical assays, were quantified based on the activity of SOD, CAT, APX, and PAL antioxidant enzymes, lipid peroxidation activity and...
