| Se registran 33 especies de chinches acuáticas; 21 semiacuáticas y 12 acuáticas (Gerromorpha y Nepomorpha). Se amplia el rango geográfico para 24 especies y nueve especies son registradas por primera vez para Colombia: Cryptocricos rufus DeCarlo, 1940; Gelastocoris bolivianus De Carlo, 1954; Ranatra tuberculifrons Montandon, 1907; Neoplea borelii (Kirkaldy, 1899); Hydrometra exalla Drake y Lauck, 1959; Hebrus plaumanni Porter, 1952; Merragata hebroides White, 1877; Rheumatobates drakei (Hungerford,1954); Microvelia hinei Drake, 1920; para cada una de estas especies se considera una diagnosis e ilustración de los caracteres taxonómicos. Para todas las especies se proporcionan la distribución por departamento y municipio y un mapa ilustrativo. |

| RESUMO Analisou-se a influência de fatores abióticos, distribuição longitudinal e temporal sobre a abundância de Brachymetra albinervis albinervis Amyot & Serville, 1843. Foram avaliados três sítios de um riacho de Cerrado: nascente, intermediário e foz, mensalmente durante um ano (junho de 2011 a maio de 2012). As variáveis abióticas aferidas foram: oxigênio dissolvido, temperatura da água, pH, condutividade elétrica, largura e profundidade do riacho. Em cada sítio, mensalmente coletou-se em transecção de 100 m lineares. Foram coletados 111 espécimes. A foz apresentou menor abundância quando comparada aos outros locais (F(2, 9) 13,721, p = 0,001). | Em coletas realizadas em ambientes lóticos e lênticos no município de Mariana, MG, foram verificados 35 gêneros e 64 espécies de heterópteros aquáticos, distribuídos em 13 famílias. Nos ambientes lênticos, foram capturadas 34 espécies e nos lóticos, 48 espécies, com espécies comuns aos dois ambientes. Nepomorpha apresentou-se com o maior número de espécies (45) com destaque para a família Naucoridae representada por12 espécies. Entre os Gerromorpha, das 19 espécies encontradas, oito foram de Veliidae e seis de Gerridae. |

| ABSTRACT The broad-shouldered water strider Paravelia cunhai sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on material from the state of Pará, northern Brazil. The new species can be distinguished from all other species in this genus mainly by the dark color of the head and pronotum, absence of pruinosity or silvery pubescence on the anterior lobe of pronotum, maculae pattern on the fore wings, hind femur with row of 22 spines on mesal margin, and general shape of the paramere. This new species was collected in a pool inside a cave without incident light, a habitat recorded for the genus only recently, which reinforces the hypothesis that some species of Paravelia have troglophilic habits. | Hydrometra argentina Berg, 1879, H. caraiba Guérin-Méneville, 1857 and H. guianana Hungerford & Evans, 1934 are newly recorded in the Amazon River floodplain, Brazil. A redescription of H. argentina is also given, as the original description is incomplete. A key to the three known species occurring in this region is provided. Hydrometra argentina can be distinguished from H. caraiba and H. guianana by the body length smaller than 12.50 mm, anteoculus/postoculus ratio between 1.80 and 2.00, clypeus narrow and conical, metacetabulum with no circular pits, and projections on male abdominal sternite VI in the shape of simple spines.
