The Hydrological Network of the Normandy Shoreline (RHLN) was created in September/October 2000 with the dual objective of (1) making it possible to assess the trophic level of the Normandy shoreline's water masses and (2) to define the long-term hydrological monitoring network that can meet the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) starting in 2007/2008. This report summarises the results obtained between 2000/2001 and 2005. The first part of the report describes and compares seasonal and inter-year variations of hydrobiological cycles in assorted water masses in Normandy.
