| Two new marine podocopid ostracod species, <i>Bishopina vangoethemi</i> sp. nov. and <i>Actinocythereis laingensis</i> sp. nov. found off the Northern coast of Papua New Guinea are described. The validity of the genus <i>Bishopina</i> Bonaduce et al., 1976 is discussed, mainly in relation to the genus <i>Miocyprideis</i> Kollmann, 1958. Furthermore, the generic characteristics of <i>Actinocythereis</i> Puri, 1953 are discussed and are compared with those of the genus <i>Ponticocythereis</i> McKenzie, 1976. |
