| The handbook summarizes the expertise of farmers, consultants, scientists and technical literature for maintaining the health of pigs. The recommendations are intended to support farmers and consultants in the development of an optimal pig husbandry. By means of simple checklists, the manual lists possible causes and behavioural disorders for the major problem areas, and suggests measures for their correction. |

| Das Forschungsprojektes „Einführung und Monitoring von 'BetriebsEntwicklungsPlänen (BEP) Tiergesundheit und Wohlbefinden' in österreichischen Bioschweinebetrieben" wurde am Institut für Nutztierwissenschaften der Universität für Bodenkultur gemeinsam mit den Projektpartnern BioAustria sowie in Kooperation mit dem LFZ Raumberg-Gumpenstein (Subprojekt „BEPVET“) durchgeführt. Dabei wurde das Ziel verfolgt, durch Einführung des Konzeptes der Betriebsentwicklungspläne zur Verbesserung von Gesundheit und Wohlbefinden und zur Reduktion des Tierarzneimitteleinsatzes als Teil eines Qualitätssicherungssystems beizutragen. | Das Handbuch fasst das Fachwissen von Bäuerinnen, Beratern, Wissenschaftlerinnen und der Fachliteratur zur Gesunderhaltung von Schweinen zusammen. Die Empfehlungen sollen Landwirtinnen und Landwirten sowie Beraterinnen und Beratern bei der Entwicklung einer optimalen Bioschweinehaltung unterstützen. Mittels einfacher Checklisten weist das Handbuch nach Problembereichen geordnet auf mögliche Ursachen und Verhaltensstörungen hin und schlägt Massnahmen für deren Behebung in Haltung, Fütterung, Management und gibt Hinweise auf mögliche Behandlungen vor. |

| Le guide résume l'expertise des agriculteurs, consultants, scientifiques et de la littérature technique sur le maintien de la santé des porcs. Les recommandations visent à soutenir les agriculteurs et les consultants dans le développement d'un élevage de porcs bios optimal. Avec l’aide de simples listes de contrôle le manuel liste les causes possibles pour les problèmes de santé et troubles du comportement des porcs. Ensuite le guide propose des mesures pour la correction dans les domaines du logement, de l'alimentation et de la gestion et donne des conseils sur les traitements possibles. |
