| El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar el stock de merluza de tres aletas (Micromesistius australis) a través del método hidroacústico, entre las latitudes 47º y 51º S. Como parte del proyecto se realizó entre el 13 y el 22 de agosto de 2005 a bordo del B/F Unzen un crucero de prospección orientado a evaluar mediante un método de evaluación directa (evaluación acústica) su biomasa, abundancia y distribución, estimar la importancia relativa de la fauna acompañante, condiciones reproductivas y tróficas del stock y realizar un análisis de las agregaciones detectadas durante el crucero. Durante el estudio se realizaron 41 lances de pesca de reconocimiento (23 positivos) y 49 transectas acústicas. |

| Este documento contiene el informe final del proyecto FIP 2006-03, realizado por el Instituto de Fomento Pesquero como unidad ejecutora y el Instituto de Investigación Pesquera de la Octava Región S.A. como subcontratada. El objetivo general del proyecto fue evaluar el stock de la merluza común (Merluccius gayi gayi) y estimar las características biológicas, pesqueras y oceanográficas relevantes del recurso. | El presente informe contiene los resultados de la cuantificación de la biomasa por hidroacústica del jurel en la zona norte, la distribución e indicadores biológicos del jurel, las condiciones ambientales y las relaciones entre éstas y la distribución del recurso. El crucero de investigación se realizó entre el 2 de noviembre y el 5 de diciembre del año 2006. La prospección abarcó el área desde Arica (18º 20’ S) a Antofagasta (23º 50’ S), desde las 5 a 200 mn. Este estudio se llevó a cabo con el B/C Abate Molina operado por el Instituto de Fomento Pesquero (IFOP) y de propiedad de Subsecretaría de Pesca. |

| Hake Merluccius hubbsi fecundity was estimated with the gravimetric method using ovaries with hydrated oocytes without post-ovulatory follicles. Samples were obtained in three research cruises in the Argentine Sea, off Chubut Province, SW of Peninsula Valdes between 42°S and 45°S, near Isla Escondida, during December 1993, 1994 and 1996, time which coincides with the most important reproductive activity. Relative fecundity values were 722 plus or minus 107, 606 plus or minus 60 and 533 plus or minus 26 oocytes per gram of female without ovaries, respectively. | This report contains the objectives, data collected and results from a hake assessment survey carried out in the Argentine Sea between 34° and 46° S, during July and August 1994, on board of the R/Vs "Dr. E. L. Holmberg" and "Cap. Oca Balda". The main objectives of the survey were: 1) to estimate total biomass and total abundance per age class; 2) to study the size and age composition; 3) to define the maturity ogive per size and age; 4) to quantitatively determine cannibalism and predation indexes. | En el presente informe se entregan los resultados finales del proyecto FIP 2003-34, cuyo objetivo general fue estimar mediante métodos in situ, la fuerza de blanco de las especies merluza del sur y merluza de cola (Merluccius australis y Macruronus magellanicus). | Pope's Cohorts Analysis was modified to extend its application to a wider range of natural mortality, M and fishing mortality, F rate values. The modified method maintains the simplicity of the one established by Pope and does not require to resolve any non lineal equation in each cohort reconstruction process. VPA on the Long Tail Hake (Macruronus magellanicus), based on data covering the years 1985 up to 1995, was performed to assess the current state of the stock.
