| An update of the knowledge on the three most important ommastrephid species that inhabit the SW Atlantic: Illex argentinus, Martialia hyadesi and Ommastrephes bartramii, is presented. Up to the moment, only I.argentinus was intensively studied. Its distribution, population structure, reproduction, growth and paralarval development are analyzed, togheter with other aspects of its biology, such as feeding, predators and parasites. Also its utilization for human consmption is considered. Regarding M.hyadesi and O.bartrami, information on their distribution and biology is presented. |

| Catch records of flatfishes obtained in exploratory cruises and in the existing literature in the geographical area between 34°S and 55°S in the Western SOuth Atlantic were analyzed to elaborate maps of the distribution of the most common flatfish species in this area. Data from commercial fleet landings at Mar del Plata Harbor were used to analyze the distribution and areas of resource concentration. The flatfish most frequently found in this study area belong to three families: 1. Paralichthidae, with the species: Thysanopsetta naresi, Paralichthys orbignyanus, Paralichthys patagonicus, Paralichthys isoceles, Xystreurys rasile. 2.-Pleuronectidae, with the species: Oncopterus darwini. 3. | El presente informe contiene los resultados de la cuantificación de la biomasa por hidroacústica del jurel en la zona norte, la distribución e indicadores biológicos del jurel, las condiciones ambientales y las relaciones entre éstas y la distribución del recurso. El crucero de investigación se realizó entre el 2 de noviembre y el 5 de diciembre del año 2006. La prospección abarcó el área desde Arica (18º 20’ S) a Antofagasta (23º 50’ S), desde las 5 a 200 mn. Este estudio se llevó a cabo con el B/C Abate Molina operado por el Instituto de Fomento Pesquero (IFOP) y de propiedad de Subsecretaría de Pesca. |

| El informe contiene los resultados correspondientes al desarrollo del crucero Módulo Huevos y Módulo Adultos del proyecto FIP 200-04-1. De conformidad con la metodología planteada en la propuesta técnica y con el fin de estimar en esta primera fase algunos de los parámetros biológicos aplicables para el Método de Producción de Huevos, a saber: proporción sexual y peso promedio estimado de hembras maduras, además de la determinación de las zonas de distribución y abundancia de huevos y su asociación con las condiciones oceanográficas, se realizaron los respectivos muestreos para el recurso anchoveta, durante el período de máxima actividad reproductiva del año 2004. |

| Between the 6 and 13 of september of 1995, a study about the abundance, distribution of fish eggs and larvae in relation of the abundance and presence of the zooplankton in the Gulf of Guayaquil was carried out. The biggest fish larvae quantity was registered at station 16, 37 and 60 with values 500 and 1000 larvae.(10 m2)-1 which position at was long. 81~'00' - 82~'00'W; lat. 01~'00'S - 3~'04'S while the fish eggs concentration was 500 eggs.(10 m2)-1 at station 21.
