Vegetation islands inside urban area can propitiate the formation of: a) adults refuge to many mosquitoes species, b) diversity of hosters, c) allows the proliferation of immature stages through naturals and artificial breeding, these ones were done by the interaction between antropic activity developed in these spaces or around areas. Considering the possibilities of contacts between the vector and the human population, the aim of this work was to verify the Culicidae species that can use man as blood source in the restricted areas of Botanical Garden, Curitiba. Mosquitos (Diptera, Culicidae) capturados com isca humana em área preservada de Curitiba, Paraná Zoologia

In a residual forest patch at Curitiba city, captures of culicidae were performed using human bait, at land levei, between 5:00 to 9:00 hours p.m. The period covered 12 months, march-90 to march-91 and the captures lasted 108 hours. In this período were caught 18 specie distributed in nine genera. The four specie caught that made more than ten percent were Aedes (Ochlerotatus) scapularis (Rondani, 1848), Culex (Culex) group coronator Dyar & Knab, 1906, Culex (Culex) quinquefasciatus Say, 1823 e Aedes (Ochlerotatus) crinifer (Theobald, 1903). With then purpose of knowing the species of mosquitos that colonize an anthropogenic area in the North of Paraná, Brazil. 1496 specimens were captured by the humam bait method, accountig 23 species among them the following were predominam: Anopheles strodei Root, 1926; An. evansae Brethes, 1926; An. galvaoi Causey, Deane & Deane, 1943; An. albitarsis Lynch Arribalzaga, 1878; Coquillettidea juxtamansonia Chagas, 1907; Co. venezuelensis Theobaldi, 1912; Culex (Melanoconion) sp. e Aedes fluviatilis (Lutz, 1904) and showed shong anthopophilia and a high degree of adaptation to humam environment.
