The selection of desirable genotypes with recessive characteristics, such as self-incompatible plants, is often difficult or even impossible and represents a crucial barrier in accelerating the breeding process. Molecular approaches and selection based on molecular markers can allow breeders to overcome this limitation. The use of self-incompatibility is an alternative in hybrid breeding of oilseed rape. Unfortunately, stable self-incompatibility is recessive and phenotype-based selection is very difficult and time-consuming. Abstract The seminiferous propagation of Sour Passion Fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims) is the main kind of multiplication due to the ease formation of seedlings. However, the reduced number of productive and homogeneous cultivars reflects the need for genetic breeding. The objective of this study was to assess the maternal and reciprocal effects in vigor and germination of Sour Passion Fruit seeds. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in the factorial scheme, with two structure (hybrid and reciprocal) and ten crosses with four replicates (50 seeds) in trays containing inert sand in germination chamber. การพัฒนาสายพันธุ์แท้ที่มีศักยภาพสำหรับเป็นแหล่งเชื้อพันธุกรรมในโครงการปรับปรุงพันธุ์ข้าวโพดข้าวเหนียวลูกผสม Thai Agricultural

The sixty-two of the exotic germplasms waxy corn were performed. The agronomic characters were averaged 45 - 52 days to flowerings, opaque and small kernel. Almost all plant aspects were green and less uniformity, unfortunately, downy mildew was susceptible. Three methods for S1 selection were (1) half - sib (HS) (2) full - sib (FS) and (3) S1 (S1) progeny test. Each method was received for two ears. Also, the agronomic characters were recorded, 45 - 52 days to tasseling and 46 - 52 days to silking. Economic yields, green and white weight were 588 - 1,063 and 340 - 631 kg/rai, namely, UPDW-0013 was showed the best of both. Furthermore, UPCW-0004 showed that the best shelling (71.16%).
