Chemical similarity among domesticated and wild genotypes of peanut based on n-alkanes profiles PAB
Souza,Renata Janaína Carvalho de; Silva,Suzene Izídio da; Oliveira,Antonio Fernando Morais de.
The objective of this work was to analyze the epicuticular n-alkane profile of domesticated and wild peanut genotypes. Foliar epicuticular n-alkanes of four Arachis hypogaea genotypes and two wild species - A. monticola and A. stenosperma - were analyzed by gas chromatography. Chemical relationships between them were evaluated using the Dice coefficient and UPGMA method. Two clusters were formed: one with four A. hypogaea genotypes and the other with the two wild species. There is more similarity between the BR1 and LIGO-PE06 genotypes and between the BRS 151 L-7 and BRS Havana genotypes.

Physiological Responses to Hypoxia and Manganese in Eucalyptus Clones with Differential Tolerance to Vale do Rio Doce Shoot Dieback Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Harguindeguy,Ignácio; Castro,Gustavo Franco de; Novais,Sarah Vieira; Vergutz,Leonardus; Araujo,Wagner Luiz; Novais,Roberto Ferreira.
ABSTRACT: Vale do Rio Doce shoot dieback (VRDSD) is an anomaly whose cause seems to be associated with hypoxic conditions and their consequences (excess Mn and Fe) triggered by elevation of the water table in areas with poor drainage. Different plants have distinct survival strategies under this form of stress. The objective of this study was to understand the physiological responses involved in the differential tolerance of eucalyptus clones to VRDSD and their relationship to hypoxia and excess Mn. A hydroponic experiment was carried out using a 2 × 2 × 2 factorial arrangement, two eucalyptus clones with different levels of tolerance to VRDSD (sensitive Urograndis hybrid - 1213; and the tolerant Rio Claro hybrid - Eucalyptus grandis x unknown - 2719), two...

Yield of strawberry crops under different irrigation levels and biofertilizer doses Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Lima,Francisco Aldiel; Viana,Thales Vinícius de Araújo; Sousa,Geocleber Gomes de; Correia,Luis Fabrício Martins; Azevedo,Benito Moreira de.
ABSTRACT Strawberry is produced and appreciated in different regions of the world, due to its productive and commercial characteristics. Biofertilizer is an organic fertilizer that is easy to prepare and effective to nourish plants. The objective of this work was to assess the effect of different irrigation levels and anaerobically fermented bovine biofertilizer doses, on biomass accumulation and strawberry crop yield. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area of the UFC, in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, from August to December 2012, under a screened environment. The experimental design was randomized blocks designed into subdivided plots, in which irrigation levels were applied via drip irrigation (equivalent to 33.3, 66.6, 100, 133.3 and 166.6%...

Growth and production of ‘Prata Anã Gorutuba’ banana under different planting densities Scientia Agricola
Siqueira,Célia Lúcia; Pereira,Marlon Cristian Toledo; Nietsche,Silvia; Xavier,Adelica Aparecida; Mendes,Athos Henrique; Xavier,Helisson Robert Araújo; Guimarães,Railton de Souza; Lacerda,Danilo Reis; Santos,Silvânio Rodrigues dos.
ABSTRACT Increased planting density, different types of thinning management, and the use of beneficial microorganisms have been adopted as strategic tools in the effort to increase crop yields in a sustainable manner. This investigation evaluated the growth and production of ‘Prata Anã Gorutuba’ banana ( Musa spp., AAB) under different plant densities during two production cycles in the semiarid region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Micropropagated plantlets were also inoculated with endophytic bacteria and cultivated as part of two mat management strategies. Planting density varied between 1,680 and 3,920 plant ha–1. During the experiment, water was less than optimal because of rationing due to drought in the region. Under field conditions, there was no...
