Última Hydrographic and hydrogeological basin of Entre-Ribeiros: probable recharge zone delimitation and environmental impact assessment REA Vasconcelos,Vitor V.; Martins Junior,Paulo P.; Hadad,Renato M.. The probable recharge zone delimitation of Entre-Ribeiros Basin (Northwest of the state of Minas Gerais / Brazil) is proposed in this study. The delimitation is based upon stratigraphy, geomorphology, geo-environmental domains and hydrogeology studies. Combining the recharge zone map with the land use variation between 1975 and 2008, the occupation trends of possible recharge zones are identified. Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta os dados cartográficos de hidrogeologia da margem direita do Córrego da Divisa, Bacia do São Bartolomeu, DF. Foram caracterizados dois tipos de aquíferos; os aquíferos fissurais, em filtros, estão associados à classe de solo CAMBISSOLO HÁPLICO; e os porosos, em latossolos, estão associados às classes de solo LATOSSOLO VERMELHO e LATOSSOLO VEREMLHO AMARELO. Os aquíferos fissurais estão associados ao Sistema Canastra, Subsistema F, com uma tendência de apresentar pequena capacidade e baixa recarga; os porosos estão associados ao Sistema P3, que apresentam elevada capacidade de recarga, mas são pequenos em volume. Discharge tests are conducted in order to determine aquifers transmissivity (T) and storage coefficient (S). However the interpretation of test data is not unique and the results may vary depending on adopted hypothesis. In this work, the convolution technique is applied for the reconstruction of observed drawdown curves aiming for the reduction of uncertainty. The interference between a flowing well and an observation well is evaluated in order to determine the hydrogeological parameters of the confined Guarani Aquifer System (Araujo et al. 1999). Discharge test data are analyzed according to the Jacob and Lohman (1952)method. The application of convolution enabled the determination of the most reliable solution. Principal component analysis is applied to 309 groundwater chemical data information from wells in the Serra Geral Aquifer System. Correlations among seven hydrochemical parameters are statistically examined. A four-component model is suggested and explains 81% of total variance. Component 1 represents calcium-magnesium bicarbonated groundwaters with long time of residence. Component 2 represents sulfated and chlorinated calcium and sodium groundwaters; Component 3 represents sodium bicarbonated groundwaters; and Component 4 is characterized by sodium sulfated with high fluoride facies.
