Performance of the probability distribution models applied to heavy rainfall daily events Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Marques,Rosângela Francisca de Paula Vitor; Mello,Carlos Rogério de; Silva,Antônio Marciano da; Franco,Camila Silva; Oliveira,Alisson Souza de.
Probabilistic studies of hydrological variables, such as heavy rainfall daily events, constitute an important tool to support the planning and management of water resources, especially for the design of hydraulic structures and erosive rainfall potential. In this context, we aimed to analyze the performance of three probability distribution models (GEV, Gumbel and Gamma two parameter), whose parameters were adjusted by the Moments Method (MM), Maximum Likelihood (ML) and L - Moments (LM). These models were adjusted to the frequencies from long-term of maximum daily rainfall of 8 rain gauges located in Minas Gerais state. To indicate and discuss the performance of the probability distribution models, it was applied, firstly, the non-parametric Filliben...

Intensity-Duration-Frequency relationships: stochastic modeling and disaggregation of daily rainfall in the lagoa Mirim watershed, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil REA
Damé,Rita de C. F; Teixeira-Gandra,Claudia F. A.; Guedes,Hugo A. S.; Silva,Gisele M. da; Silveira,Suélen C. R. da.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate information gain by using rainfall intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) relationships, with data gathered within N+M years from seven rain gauge stations located in the Lagoa Mirim Watershed (South Atlantic basin). After N years of daily rainfall, the transition probabilities of a time homogeneous two-state Markov chain were defined to simulate rainfall occurrence, as well as gamma distribution to measure it; for that, daily rainfall series were composed of N+M years, with M being the generated series. The series were adjusted to Gumbel distribution, being used in annual maximum daily rainfall disaggregation for durations of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 120, 360, 720 and 1440 min. Daily rainfall disaggregation was...

Method adjustment and equation set of maximum rainfall intensity, duration and frequency in the Mato Grosso do Sul State REA
Pereira,Silvio B.; Nóia,Carlos P. Z.; Almeida,Rafael A.; Coelho,Clívia D..
Due to the lack of information concerning maximum rainfall equations for most locations in Mato Grosso do Sul State, the alternative for carrying out hydraulic work projects has been information from meteorological stations closest to the location in which the project is carried out. Alternative methods, such as 24 hours rain disaggregation method from rainfall data due to greater availability of stations and longer observations can work. Based on this approach, the objective of this study was to estimate maximum rainfall equations for Mato Grosso do Sul State by adjusting the 24 hours rain disaggregation method, depending on data obtained from rain gauge stations from Dourado and Campo Grande. For this purpose, data consisting of 105 rainfall stations...

Chuvas intensas no Estado de Mato Grosso. Infoteca-e
FIETZ, C. R.; COMUNELLO, E.; CREMON, C.; DALLACORT, R.; PEREIRA, S. B..
