| Emerita analoga (Stimpson 1857) habita en la zona infralitoral de playas arenosas, desarrollando intensa movilidad en la zona de barrido y embate de las olas. Su habilidad motriz, reflejada en una constante actividad muscular explosiva, sugiere una alta actividad glicolítica (fermentativa) complementaria a la fosforilación oxidativa. En este trabajo se determinó la actividad específica aparente de la láctico dehidrogenasa (LDH EC 1.1.1.27) de E. analoga como indicador de hipoxia funcional. Además, se estudió el efecto del peso y del pH sobre la actividad LDH, así como en los valores aparentes de sus parámetros cinéticos (Vmax y Km). | Scorpion venom toxicity is of major concern due to its influence on human activities and public health. The cytotoxicity and apoptosis induced by scorpion L. quinquestriatus venom on two established eukaryotic cell lines (293T and C2C12) were analyzed. Both cultured cell lines were incubated with varying doses (10, 20, and 50 µg/ml) of scorpion venom in serum free medium (SFM) for 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 8 hours at 37°C. The percentage of total lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) released in the culture during venom incubation was used as an index of cell damage. Control culture was treated with an equal amount of SFM. | 臨床的に牛白血病を疑ったものの，牛白血病ではないと確定診断されたホルスタイン種乳牛11症例の臨床所見を回顧的に整理した．11症例は体表リンパ節腫大あるいは体腔内の腫瘤触知により牛白血病との鑑別診断が必要であったが，病理解剖により乳房炎，子宮蓄膿症，膿瘍，肺炎，腸炎またはアミロイド症と診断された．牛白血病ウイルス（Bovine leukemia virus: BLV）抗体陽性を呈した4頭のうち，リンパ球増多症を呈したものが2頭であった．またこれら2頭のうち1頭はリンパ節細胞診でも大型リンパ球優勢であった．しかし，血清チミジンキナーゼ（Tymidine kinase: TK），総乳酸脱水素酵素（Lactate dehydrogenase: LDH），LDHアイソザイム2および3の活性値は4頭とも基準値以内であり，牛白血病発症は否定的であった．BLV抗体陰性牛7頭のうち，リンパ節細胞診を実施した2頭は小型リンパ球優勢であり，また，リンパ球増多症を呈した症例はいなかった．1症例では血清TK活性値が基準値をわずかに超えており，また，他の2頭は総LDH，LDHアイソザイム2および3の活性値がいずれも基準値を超えていたが，他の検査項目は牛白血病について否定的であった．腫大リンパ節の細胞診，リンパ球数算定，血清TK，総LDH，LDHアイソザイム2および3の活性値測定といった牛白血病診断のための検査を複数実施することで，牛白血病を否定するための診断精度を高めることが可能と考えられた． |

Materials and methods: A cross-sectional prospective study was conducted from 2012 to 2016 to evaluate the occurrence of pulmonary fungal infection in HIV-patients hospitalized due to pulmonary infections. | A concentração de creatinoquinase (CK), aspartato aminotransferase (AST) e dehidrogenase lática (LDH) foi determinada em amostras de soro obtidas de 60 equinos da raça Crioula: 20 éguas mantidas no pasto (Grupo A), 20 equinos em treinamento (Grupo B) e 20 participantes da competição do "Freio de Ouro de 1997" em Esteio - RS (Grupo C), dos quais foram colhidas amostras 24 a 48 horas antes do início da competição e 24 e 48 horas após a mesma. Não houve variação significativa na LDH. O grupo B apresentou concentrações de CK e AST mais elevadas (p<0,05) que os grupos A e C, indicando uma adaptação ao exercício.
