| The genus Lygodium Sw. is one of the few climbing ferns in the world. The spores of L. venustum Sw. and L. volubile Sw. were studied using light, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy. This work is based on herbarium material. The spores are trilete, triangular, with straight to convex sides in polar view. The equatorial diameter is 72-104 µm, and the polar diameter is 64-84 µm. The ornamentation in L. venustum is verrucate-tuberculate while in L. volubile, it is verrucate-tuberculate in the proximal face but with a few ridges on the distal face, where a micro-ornamentation constituted by verrrucae and tubercles is observed. | En este trabajo se confirma que el área de distribución de Lygodium venustum incluye el noreste de la Argentina, a partir de la reciente colección de ejemplares en el Parque Provincial Moconá, provincia de Misiones, y de la identificación de material de herbario, que corroboran una antigua cita dudosa de esta especie. Este registro representa el límite austral de distribución de la especie. Se describen e ilustran los caracteres diagnósticos y se brinda una clave de identificación, así como material de referencia de las especies de Lygodium del Cono Sur de América. Se lectotipifican Lygodium venustum, L. pohlianum y L. palmatilobum, se sinonimiza a L. palmatilobum bajo Lygodium venustum. Se considera a Lygodium hastatum, L. palmatilobatum y L.... |
