En la presente investigación se analizaron imágenes digitales de hojas de frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) para identificar con un clasificador, deficiencias de hierro (Fe) y manganeso (Mn). A los 24 días después de la siembra (dds) se les suministró la solución nutritiva de acuerdo a ocho tratamientos: dos deficiencias parciales, una de 50 % Fe y otra de 50 % Mn; dos deficiencias totales totales, 0 % Fe y una más de 0 % Mn además de una interacción (0 % Fe, 0 % Mn) y dos dosis excedentes (200 % Fe y 200 % Mn); finalmente un tratamiento testigo (100 % Fe, 100 % Mn) usando como referencia la solución Steiner. This presentation is a review of the chemistries of redox sensitive elements within suboxic regions of extreme oxygen minimum zones. Suboxic regions are defined as extreme oxygen minimum zones with dissolved oxygen < 10 µmol kg-1 (and likely <5 µmol kg-1), and with clear evidence of nitrate reduction, but not sulfate reduction. These are regions with nitrate deficits > 10 µmol kg-1 or N* values of _10 µmol kg-1. Suboxic regions predictably occur in the tropical and subtropical eastern Pacific and the Arabian Sea. Abstract Coffee is one of the most valuable agricultural commodities and the plants’ leaves are the primary site of infection for most coffee diseases, such as the devastating coffee leaf rust. Therefore, the use of bacterial microbiota that inhabits coffee leaves to fight infections could be an alternative agricultural method to protect against coffee diseases. Here, we report the leaf-associated bacteria in three coffee genotypes over the course of a year, with the aim to determine the diversity of bacterial microbiota. Deficiências e desequilíbrios minerais em bovinos são descritas em quase todas as regiões do mundo. Os elementos minerais comumente deficientes para bovinos com dieta exclusiva de pasto são: P, Na, I, Cu, Co, e Se. Em algumas regiões sob condições especificas, Ca, Mg e Mn. The distribution of extractable manganese, which is likely to be similar to dissolved manganese, in a transect from the mid-shelf of the southeastern East China Sea Shelf across the Kuroshio to the Okinawa Trough was determined in May 1991. In the surface layer above 200 m, the higher concentrations of extractable manganese (5 to 6 nM) are found at the most shoreward station. Mixing between the shelf water and the Kuroshio results in a tongue of manganese-rich water (> 3 nM) extending from the shelf into the Okinawa Trough. This work focuses on investigating the potential of calcein and manganese as growth markers of the common cockle (Cerastoderma edule) in the bay of Somme (France). Recapture of shells, previously marked using a chemical marking and then bred in natural conditions, was performed in order to determine the shell growth patterns. Calcein marking has shown a fluorescent increment in shells after only 30 min immersion time at 150 mg L-1, but also for shells immersed 3 h at 50 mg L-1. Hydrothermal vents are a recognized source of trace elements to the ocean inventory. Nevertheless, the contribution of slow-spreading ridges remains poorly resolved. To address this, high-resolution dissolved (<0.45 μm) iron (dFe) and manganese (dMn) samples were collected during the GEOTRACES HERMINE GApr07 process study at the Mid Atlantic Ridge. Samples were collected at nine stations, from the TAG vent site to 75 km south-southwest following the neutrally buoyant plume. [ 1] The residual dark unit of the most recent eastern Mediterranean sapropel (S1) is usually overlain by sediments with enhanced concentrations of MnO(x) in two separated layers. The variability and magnitude of the Mn enrichment at different locations and water depths indicate that Mn must have been added preferentially to sediments at intermediate ( 1 - 2 km) water depths. We propose a two-stage mechanism for the Mn enrichment that involves decreasing oxygenation with increasing water depth. Manganese is an essential element for plants, intervening in several metabolic processes, mainly in photosynthesis and as an enzyme antioxidant-cofactor. Nevertheless, an excess of this micronutrient is toxic for plants. Mn phytotoxicity is manifested in a reduction of biomass and photosynthesis, and biochemical disorders such as oxidative stress. In Brazil, plant-available micronutrients in the soil can be determined by several chemical extractants, the most common of which are dilute acid and chelating solutions. The purpose of this study was to assess the extractants 0.1 mol L-1 HCl, Mehlich-1, Mehlich-3 and DTPA for analysis of the micronutrients Cu, Zn, Fe, and Mn in soils from the state of Paraná. The effect of liming on the availability of micronutrients to soybean cultivated during different numbers of years under no tillage (NT) was investigated. The treatments consisted of the number of years under NT (three, six, and nine years) and five rates of lime (0, 33, 67 and 100% of the amount calculated to raise soil base saturation to 70%) broadcast on soil surface plus the rate of 100% broadcast with incorporation in the 0-0.20 m layer of a clayey Red Oxisol. The study of environmental pathways and human exposure to Manganese (Mn) in Southern Brazil was performed using two steps. The first step consisted of taking water samples from the surface of the Pardinho River. The average results from this technique showed a significant increase of pollutants, including increased levels of Mn, above the environmentally acceptable standard recommended by the Brazilian National Environment Council.
