La biodéposition liée à l'exploitation des filières de moules est responsable de l' accumulation de particules fines dans l'environnement marin. Cette biodéposition consiste, à travers la formation de feces et de pseudo feces, en un transfert de particules sestoniques, de la tranche d'eau vers le sédiment. Au cours de ce travail nous avons étudié l'influence des cycles de marée et de l'intensité de celle-ci sur la biodéposition, à travers la mesure de flux verticaux de particules. De même, l'impact de cette biodéposition (aspects qualitatifs et quantitatifs) sur le seston a été abordé. Notre étude montre une variation de l'intensité des flux liée au cycle de marée. This work is part of a general study aiming at the modelling growth and dispersion of the larvae of Pinctada margaritifera in the lagoon of Ahe atoll (Tuamotu, French Polynesia). The general objective of this study is to set up a model coupling the growth and the dispersal of chlorophyll and particulate matter according to different spatial and temporal scales. Totally 1111 samples were taken in 12 stations from April 21st to May 28th, 2007. The speed and the direction of the wind bad a significant effect on the different parameters. En 1996, le vieillissement des fonds de bassins aquacoles de crevettes était présenté comme hypothèse explicative de la dégradation des rendements de production sur certains sites d’élevage. Un travail conséquent avait été réalisé à l’époque dont l'objectif était, à partir d'un inventaire des différents sédiments des fermes aquacoles du Territoire, de mettre en évidence une éventuelle évolution de ce sédiment au fil des cycles d'élevage et son influence sur la productivité. L’objet de ce document est de numériser et de compiler les différentes fiches techniques diffusées à l’époque sous forme papier aux aquaculteurs de la filière crevette de Nouvelle-Calédonie. |

Chemical and Biological evolution of sediments in closed circuit : I. Nitrogen and bacteria. A series of well controlled sea water closed circuit sand filters allowed the study of chemical and biological regulation processes in the sediment. Bacteria, Nitrogen chemistry and meiofauna were mainly investigated. The evolution of the different forms of nitrogen is rather similar, whatever the organic matter flow in the sediment. As long as the amount of organic input works as limiting factor, bacteria densities are proportional to its flow. A twice monthly study shows that the major amount of organic material is from detrtic origin, and is brought in winter, when valeus of mineral seston are very high. In the sping time, phytoplancton blooms, do not make up for lack of detritic material where as in the summer, oceanic phytoplancton is composed of important amounts of carbohydrates. Available food is defined as sum of protids, lipids and carbohydrates and mesured in energetic therms. This allows to foretell the amount of food that molluscs ar likely to assimilate. |

Depuis plusieurs années, on observe en période post-estivale un très important déficit en oxygène dissous dans l'estuaire de la Loire, accompagné par une mortalité élevée de certaines espèces halieutiques migratrices. L'origine de cette anoxie est imputée au stock de matière organique particulaire biodégradable qui est piégée dans la zone de turbidité maximale. Chemical and Biological evolution of sediments in closed circuit : II. Effect of soluble organic matter input on meiofauna in polytrophic systems. The effect on meiofauna of the input of soluble organic matter in closed circuit sand filters was followed during two years for an oligotrophic, a mesotrophic and an eutrophic tank, and during one year for an atrophic tank. In the case of no input, the density, biomass and species richness of nematodes decreases even if equitability remains constant. Oligotrophy maintains the stability and diversity. Mesotrophy changes the community composition by species succession. Eutrophy allows biomass increase, due to one dominant species. |

Quantitative surveys of metazoan meiofauna were carried out in an upwelling region off Central Chile (36 degreesS). During May 1997 and May 1998, coinciding with the onset and end of Fl Nino, five benthic stations (respectively 27, 34, 64, 88, and 120 m depth), from the middle of Concepcion Bay to the edge of the adjacent continental shelf, were sampled. The sedimentary organic matter biopolymeric fraction (proteins, carbohydrates and lipids) and chloroplastic pigments were also assessed. In 1979 and 1980, the characteristics of the particulate organic matter are defined fortnightly through seston analyses. It is very high in the basin and very low in the finishing ponds. The phytoplanktonic biomasses are maximal in May in the estuary, and in June-July in the finishing ponds, with chlorophyll contents 10 times higher than those monitored in the basin. Proteins are generally the main biochemical components found in both environments, with glucids accounting for 20 % and lipids for only 10 % of the biochemical components on average. The main problem of the Girond estuary is a pollution by the cadmium. During this last ten years, the good quality of the water is proved by the analysis of the main physico - chemical and biochemical parameters and bacteria. But since 1989, straight to the Blayais power station, the BOD5 varied between 2 and 3,5 mg.l-1 and a diminution of the dissolved oxygen has been observed; it's probably caused by the accumulation of biodegradable organic matter in the maximum turbidity zone during years characterized by low river flows. In 1966, the diversion of the Durance River introduced important hydrological changes.
