Development and Performance Evaluation of Screw-like Fish Meal Pelletizer CIGR Journal
Ikubanni, Peter Pelumi; Agboola, Olayinka Oluwole; Ogunsemi, Bamidele Tope.
Aquaculture farming requires good and balanced meal for the fish to stay healthy. Several fish meal pelletizing machines have been designed and developed in Nigeria. This study is to contribute to the improvement of existing design models through designing, fabricating and performing evaluation tests on the machine. The average discharge efficiency, percentage loss due to residue ingredients and production rate for the machine under study after four runs for 5 kg fish meal ingredients weight was processed for 2.5 minutes was 92.25 %, 7.75 % and 110.7 kg/hr, respectively. It was discovered that as the drying days increase, the percentage moisture content removal increases for the two categories of pelletized fish meal weight (4.6 kg and 4.65 kg) considered...

Evaporative cooling technologies for greenhouses: a comprehensive review CIGR Journal
Misra, Debajit; Ghosh, Sudip.
Excessive heat generation by the high solar radiation is the major issue for agricultural greenhouses in hot climatic regions. This issue has been of great concern to summer greenhouses and has continuously been under study. Effective cooling of greenhouses has to be undertaken to minimize the issue. There are several techniques of greenhouse cooling and among them, evaporative cooling has completely revolutionized the system of cooling in greenhouses since the nineteenth century and still it is being used around the world. The current paper presents a review study covering the past and the latest kinds of evaporative cooling techniques, which have been utilizing for agricultural greenhouses in summer. The paper attempted to show the performance...

Anpilpay 2.0: a New Human Powered Press for Producing Straw Bales for Load Bearing Constructions CIGR Journal
FRANCO, Walter; Anastasio, Dario; Ferraresi, Carlo; Gondino, Francesco; Quaglia, Giuseppe; Soprana, Lorenzo.
This paper provides the design method to realize a human-powered press for continuous production of high-density straw bales, necessary for the realization of load bearing housing modules. Particular attention is directed to the simplicity of the press mechanical structure, in order to make possible its construction in developing countries. The design process is fully described, then the use of a prototype press for the realization, with high-density rice straw bales, of a load bearing housing module is presented and the results are commented.

Kinematics of twin rotary tiller CIGR Journal
Belov, Mikhail Ivanovich.
Kinematics of twin rotary tiller with a big front rotor was investigated. This tiller contains two rotors with horizontal axes one behind another. The twin rotary tiller with L-shaped blades can be used for heavy loamy soil handle. The rear rotor is designed to handle upper soil layer. Theoretical methods and computer model were used to calculate the radius of the rear rotor, the position of the rotor above land surface, rotational rotor speed, tractor forward speed at desired sizes of slice pierсe in the upper layer of soil and at given number of blades on one side of a flange.
