Maize breeding programs conduct multi-environment trials every year to assess the performance of new cultivars in pre-releasing tests. The objective of this work was to classify and select sweet potato clones, using the REML/BLUP methodology. The study was carried out in Rio Largo, Alagoas State, located 127 m above sea level, 9°27’S and 35°27’W. Five clones were evaluated (CL-2, CL-3, CL-4, CL-6 and CL-8) in a randomized complete blocks design with eight replications. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is considered a good genetic model for evaluating mechanisms of drought tolerance, and it is the most important threat to crop production worldwide. This study aimed to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with agronomic, morphological and physiological traits in a population of 137 recombinant chromosome substitution lines (RCSL) of barley, which were evaluated under rainfed conditions, in Cauquenes, southern Chile (35°58’ S, 72°17’ W). Multivariate statistical procedures use only complete cases, deleting any case with missing data. How temperate forests will respond to climate change is uncertain; projections range from severe decline to increased growth. We conducted field tests of sessile oak (Quercus petraea), a widespread keystone European forest tree species, including more than 150,000 trees sourced from 116 geographically diverse populations. The augmented block design is widely used in breeding programs, with non-replicated treatments generally being selection units, and replicated treatments being standard cultivars. Periodic assessment of the genetic progress made in recurrent selection programs is essential for assessing the evolution of the programs and identifying the main factors that have contributed to this progress. This study aimed to estimate genetic progress in grain yield, plant height and days-to-flowering achieved in the CNA6 population of upland rice (Oryza sativa L.), after four cycles of recurrent selection; and evaluate the genetic potential of this population to generate superior inbred lines after each selection cycle.
