Regional Economic Impacts of Florida's Agricultural and Natural Resource Industries AgEcon
Hodges, Alan W.; Mulkey, W. David.
The state of Florida has large industries producing fruits and vegetables, sugar, livestock, dairy and meat products, seafood, ornamental plants, forest products, phosphate rock, and an array of associated industries that provide supporting inputs and services, and conduct processing and manufacturing. There are distinct differences in the regional distribution of Florida's agricultural and natural resource industries. Economic characteristics and impacts were evaluated for the state of Florida and for eight separate regions of Florida. Each region is comprised of a core metropolitan area and a number of surrounding counties, as defined by the US Commerce Department, Bureau of Economic Analysis, based on employee commuting patterns and other factors. The Relative Importance of the Green Industry in the U.S. Agricultural Economy AgEcon
Turner, Steven C.; Kriesel, Warren.
This article describes the relative size of the green industry within the U.S. economy and how it is linked to supporting industries through the volume of transactions and economic impact multipliers. This analysis was based on IMPLAN, an input-output model developed by the U.S. Forest Service. In terms of 1990 employment, the green industry was the second leading employer in United States production agriculture. In terms of output, the greenhouse and products sector ranked sixth within production agriculture, behind cattle, other livestock, grains, other crops and oil bearing crops.

The agri-food and other bio-based sectors in Spain. A description based on multiplier analysis AgEcon
Ferrari, Emanuele; Cardenete, Manuel Alejandro; Boulanger, Pierre; Delgado, M.C.; M'Barek, Robert.
The turnover of the EU agri-food sector overtops 2,000 billion Euros a year and employs roughly 22 millions workers. The focus of this paper is on the sectors directly linked to agricultural production and the food industry. Having a comprehensive understanding of extended agri-food economic linkages is critical when designing pertinent policies to deliver the full potential of strong EU agri-food and other bio-based sectors. A more disaggregated view is required. This study stars from a Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) for Spain with a highly disaggregated agricultural sector (AgroSAMs) for the year 2000. This study uses the AgroSAMs in its entire disaggregation, in order to provide a descriptive analysis of the agri-food and bio-based sectors. The limits...
