A new deep-sea lobster of the genus Thymopides (Crustacea : Decapoda : Nephropidae) collected near the hydrothermal vent Snake Pit, Mid-Atlantic Ridge ArchiMer
Segonzac, Michel; Macpherson, Enrique.
A second species of the genus Thymopides, T laurentae sp. nov., is described from a specimen trapped at 3505 m depth in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, near the Snake Pit hydrothermal area. This new species is easily distinguishable from the type species T grobovi, collected off the subantarctic islands Heard and Kerguelen, at depth between 525 and 1220 m, by its smooth carapace, the abdomen without longitudinal median carina and the palm of the first pereopod distinctly longer than wide.

Progression de l'organisation phragmale du metamere thoracique de quelques malacostraces ArchiMer
Casanova, B; Huguet, D; Secretan, S.
A comparison of the skeleton of a successive thoracic segment in various Malacostraca shows the development and growing complexity of phragmal structure. It first appears in some Mysicacea and in Euphausiacea by means of an interarthrodial lamina issued from sternite. In Decapoda, Penaidae, Atyidae, Processidae, Palaemonidae, this lamina is diversified and some elements from pleural origin join it. The beginning of the so constituted wall considerably increases in Nephropidae and becomes ramified.

Two new species of the rare lobster genus Thaumas... Advanced Search Two new species of the rare lobster genus Thaumastocheles Wood-Mason, 1874 (Reptantia: Nephropidae) discovered from recent deep-sea expeditions in the Indo-West Pacific ArchiMer
Chang, Su-ching; Chan, Tin-yam; Ahyong, Shane T..
Specimens of species closely related to the rare deep-sea lobster Thaumastocheles japonicus Calman, 1913 were obtained from recent deep-sea expeditions in the West Pacific. Close examination of these specimens, as well as molecular analysis, showed that they represent two species new to science, with many morphological and significant genetic differences (barcoding gene COI sequence divergences 11.5-14.8%) between each other as well as T japonicus. Re-examination of the specimens previously assigned to T japonicus revealed that true T japonicus has a more northern distribution, from Japan to the South China Sea and the Philippines. The two new species have more southern distributions with T. bipristis n. sp. restricted to the Philippines and Indonesia, and...
