Physical and chemical changes in soil fertilized with poultry manure with and without chiseling AGRIAMBI
Eguchi,Edson S.; Cecato,Ulysses; Muniz,Antonio S.; Mari,Gracielle C.; Murano,Raphael A. C.; Sousa Neto,Eurico L. de.
ABSTRACT Poultry manure and mechanical management may influence the distribution of nutrients in the soil profile. The objective was to evaluate physical and chemical changes in a soil with palisade grass ( Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu) fertilized with doses of poultry manure with and without use of soil chiseling, after 180 days of application. The design was a randomized blocks with four replicates, in a 5 x 2 factorial arrangement with five doses of manure (0, 1.073, 2.074, 4.148 and 6.222 Mg ha-1), with and without soil chiseling at 0.20 m. Soil chiseling caused physical changes with an increase of macroporosity in the layer of 0-0.2 m and reduction in soil density and increase in macroporosity and total porosity in the layer of 0.2-0.4 m. With...

Kinetics of digestion of low-quality forage grazed by beef cattle fed supplements containing increasing levels of rumen undegradable protein R. Bras. Zootec.
Gomes,Raphael dos Santos; Oliveira,Tadeu Silva de; Pereira,José Carlos; Vieira,Ricardo Augusto Mendonça; Silva,Cássio José da; Leonel,Fernando de Paula; Fernandes,Alberto Magno; Azevedo,Flavio Henrique Vidal.
ABSTRACT This experiment was conducted to evaluate the degradation kinetics and microbial efficiency of beef cattle grazing on low-quality forage and receiving supplements with different levels of rumen undegradable protein (RUP). The animals grazed on palisade grass pasture solely or this pasture and supplement containing 40 or 60 g of RUP per 100 g of crude protein (CP). The degradation profiles of neutral detergent fiber, fiber carbohydrates, and neutral detergent insoluble protein were interpreted kinetically by using a decreasing logistic model. Treatments (no supplement, or RUP at 40 or 60 g−1 100 g CP) did not affect rumen fill; however, the increase in the indigestible fiber carbohydrate fraction that occurred at the expense of the digestible fiber...

Recovery of a dystrophic Red Latosol (Oxisol) and pasture as a function of gypsum in the Cerrado biome R. Bras. Zootec.
Backes,Clarice; Santos,Alessandro José Marques; Rodrigues,Lucas Matheus; Teodoro,Arthur Gabriel; Ribon,Adriana Aparecida; Villas Bôas,Roberto Lyra; Pereira,Lorena Marques; Franco,Yago Magalhães.
ABSTRACT This study was conducted to evaluate the chemical effects of gypsum on the soil and on the recovery of a pasture established with palisade grass (Urochloa brizantha) in a Cerrado biome region. A randomized block experimental design with six treatments and four replications was adopted. Treatments consisted of five levels of gypsum (0, 450, 900, 1800, and 3600 kg ha−1) plus an unmanaged control treatment (without gypsum or additional chemical fertilizers). The gypsum treatments received addition of fertilizer (200 and 40 kg ha−1 of N and P respectively). The soil treatment started in October 2012. The application of gypsum provided an increase in plant height, number of tillers, and dry matter of the shoots of palisade grass. Gypsum combined with...

Intercropping Urochloa brizantha and sorghum inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense for silage Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Nakao,Allan Hisashi; Andreotti,Marcelo; Soares,Deyvison de Asevedo; Modesto,Viviane Cristina; Dickmann,Lourdes.
ABSTRACT Livestock performance in the Brazilian Cerrado has been limited by the low availability of good quality fodder, especially during periods of low rainfall. The aim of this study was to evaluate growth and dry matter production in two cultivars of sorghum, inoculated or not with diazotrophic bacteria, and as a monocrop or intercropped with palisade grass under a system of crop-livestock integration. The experiments were carried out in the field in the Cerrado region during the autumn-winter period of 2015 and 2016, on the experimental farm of the Faculty of Engineering at Ilha Solteira, UNESP, in Selvíria, in the State of Mato Groso do Sul, Brazil (MS). A randomised complete block experimental design was used in a 2 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme with...
