Bifid Condylar Process: Cases Report International Journal of Morphology
Fuentes Fernández,Ramón; Flores Flores,Homero; Silva Mella,Héctor; Flores Lillo,Tania.
The bifid condylar process is a rare anomaly. Most of the known cases are radiographic findings, mainly in ortopantomography and nuclear magnetic resonance. The condition is usually asymptomatic, while in some cases are associated with ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint. It is reported that the presence of bifid condylar process is not determined by age and gender, but the findings are among the ages of 3 to 67 years, with the average age of 35 years. The present report presents two cases of patients with abnormalities of condylar process detectable through radiographic examination.

Accuracy in the Diagnosis of the Mental Nerve Loop: A Comparative Study Between Panoramic Radiography and Cone Beam Computed Tomography International Journal of Morphology
Couto-Filho,Carlos Eduardo Gomes do; Moraes,Paulo Hemerson de; Alonso,Maria Beatriz Carrazzone; Haiter-Neto,Francisco; Olate,Sergio; Albergaria-Barbosa,José Ricardo de.
Dental implant and chin osteotomy are executed on the mandible body and the mental nerve is an important anatomical limit. The aim of this research was to know the position of the mental nerve loop comparing result in panoramic radiography and cone beam computed tomography. We analyzed 94 hemimandibles and the patient sample comprised female and male subjects of ages ranging from 18 to 52 years (mean age, 35 years) selected randomly from the database of patients at the Division of Oral Radiology at Piracicaba Dental School State University of Campinas; the anterior loop (AL) of the mental nerve was evaluated regarding the presence or absence, which was classified as rectilinear or curvilinear and measurement of its length was obtained. The observations...

Transmigrated Canines Associated to Odontomas International Journal of Morphology
Salamanca,Carlos; Ottone,Nicolás Ernesto; Arias Rubilar,César; Garay,Ivonne; Fuentes,Ramon.
We present the case of a 13-year-old patient with bilateral transmigration of mandibular canine associated with multiple composite odontoma. Impacted canines are very uncommon, with a 0.1 % to 3.6 % prevalence of appearance. The presence in the mandible is less frequent. The odontoma development is often associated with the impacted canines. The etiology is unknown but is associated with traumatic, infectious, hereditary or genetic factors. This pathology is asymptomatic and associated with eruption disorders in temporal and permanent dentition.
