Nutrition chez des copepodes en milieu lagunaire mediterraneen en fonction de la concentration en particules et de la temperature ArchiMer
Gaudy, R; Pagano, M.
The zooplankton of an eutrophic brackish lagoon (Etang de Berre), near Marseille (France) was studied during an annual cycle. It was characterized by large populations of a pelagic copepod (Acartia tonsa ). Grazing on natural particles by this species was investigated. Adults were able to use an extended range of particle sizes, but showed selectivity for particles concentration was observed (14 mu m). Temperature and particles concentration appear to modify the selectivity behavior. Juvenile stages could also catch particles of various size but did not show the same selectivity for the peak particles as adults. Daily food ration was high comparatively to open-sea copepods. Taking into account several results obtained on food ration, egg production and...

Particules en suspension dans la Baie de Seine: Concentration et sedimentation instantanee en periode d''etiage ArchiMer
Brun, C; Benbrahim, M.
Granulometry, density estimation, massic charge, sedimentary flux of suspensions and time of suspended forms are the different parts of this report. The studies have taken place during low-water levels and don't take into consideration the effects of storms and floods.
Tipo: Text Palavras-chave: Density; Granulometry; Low tide; Sedimentation; Particle concentration; Suspended particulate matter.

Strategie d''etude des suspensions mise en oeuvre en Baie de Seine ArchiMer
Lafite, R; Lamboy, M.
The results of research lead by this laboratory have struck upon the qualitative and textural diversity of suspended particulate matter. This diversity has followed the various techniques for sampling and the adjustment of a methodology which correlate, quantitative data analysis.

Contribution de l''etude des suspensions a la comprehension des mecanismes hydrosedimentaires estuariens et littoraux en Manche centrale et orientale ArchiMer
Dupont, J; Lafite, R; Lamboy, M.
Satellite imagery shows the turbid and thermal plume of the Seine River and littoral zone of Picardie and Haute-Normandie. The suspensions have been analysed in conformity with a strategy elaborated in 1985 by the authors. In this macrotidal coastal environment they have attempted to draw the dynamic specificities and the material characteristics.

Retention efficiency in oyster Crassostrea gigas exposed to variable food quantity and quality ArchiMer
Barille, Laurent; Prou, Jean; Heral, Maurice; Bougrier, Serge.
Relative retention efficiency (Er%) of Crassostrea gigas was estimated in the laboratory with 7 diets consisting of algae and silt. Total particulates varied from 1.34 mg/l in natural sea water to 27.65 mg/l in natural sea water enriched with silt. It was also calculated from field experiment to get high concentration of seston up to 66 mg/l. It appeared that Crassostrea gigas did not adjust its retention according to the food quality and the gill porosity was controlled by the concentration of particulate matter. In low seston load (1.34 mg/l) the oyster showed no change in retention for particles larger than 3-4 µm (Equivalent Spherical Diameter, ESD) but at the highest concentration (66 mg/l) it could only retain with a maximum efficiency particles...

Concentrations, Accumulation and Sources of PAHs in Surface Layer Sediments of Taizhou Bay. OceanDocs
Jin, Binming.
The concentrations, accumulation and sources of 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) had been studied or evaluated in the surface layer sediments of Taizhou Bay, China. It showed that the concentrations of PAHs ranged from 85.4 to 167.6 ng/g (averaged 138.62 ng/g), and the highest level was found in Jiao Jiang Dock. Percentages of 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-cyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were 7.8 %, 42.1 %, 33.3 %, 9.6 % and 7.2 % respectively. The accumulation indices of PAHs ranged from 532.7 to 1068.9 (averaged 807.5), and the index of Phenanthrene was the highest (122.7), while that of Benzo (a) Pyrene was the lowest (2.7) among them. In Taizhou Bay, PAHs in surface layer sediments came mainly from coal burning, partly from direct pollution of petroleum...
