This work is part of a general study aiming at the modelling growth and dispersion of the larvae of Pinctada margaritifera in the lagoon of Ahe atoll (Tuamotu, French Polynesia). The general objective of this study is to set up a model coupling the growth and the dispersal of chlorophyll and particulate matter according to different spatial and temporal scales. Totally 1111 samples were taken in 12 stations from April 21st to May 28th, 2007. The speed and the direction of the wind bad a significant effect on the different parameters. The depth has not influence on the variations of the chlorophyll and the particulate matter that of their quality descriptors (proportion of cells lower than 2 µm, that of the phaeopigments and the organic matter). The flesh production of oysters is mainly related to concentrations of dissolved carbon and free amino acids. The younger oysters are dependent on concentrations of pheopigments while the production of the older ones is related to chlorophyll a values of the water-sediment interface. Shell production depends mainly on temperature, but also on the amount of food available: concentrations of dissolved carbon for the younger oysters and values in chlorophyll a of the interface for the older ones.

Le risque trophique : caractéristiques trophique et hétérogénéité des ressources alimentaires en lien avec les mortalités ostréicoles ArchiMer

The "trophic risk" has been demonstrated in the bioenergetic model developed in vivo and based on various diet conditions similar to those of different types of oyster culture basins (eutrophic, heterotrophic and oligotrophic) [22, 23]. The trophic resource – mortality relationship differs from one basin to another, according to the quantity of this resource. Multy-varied analysis (ACP) conducted on a total of 11 oyster culture sites and handled in a database matching mortality and environmental data, show that the trophic indicator "chlorophyll a" (often coupled with temperature) is involved in a positive correlation with the mortality of both age classes (1 and 2 years old).
