บทบาทของหินฟอสเฟท (Phosphate Rock, PR) ในการผลิตข้าวโพดแบบอินทรีย์ Thai Agricultural
Sukum Chotechaungmanirat; Paweena Thongluang.
Growth of corn responded markedly to application of phosphorus from both phosphate rock and triple super phosphate. It was found that corn with application of 6 and 30 gm P/pot of PR had average plant height (at 30 and 50 days after planting) of 77 percent and 82 percent, compared to the growth of corn with 6 gm P/pot of TSP. And increasing the rate of phosphorus from PR to 60 gm P/pot resulted of 92 percent in growth, compared to that from application of triple super phosphate. No application of phosphorus resulted in only 69 percent of the growth of corn, compared to that from application of triple super phosphate. Similarly, the application of phosphorus from phosphate rock (PR) at the rates of 0, 6, 30 and 60 gm P/pot resulted 29 percent, 38 percent,...

Plant- and microbial-based mechanisms to improve the agronomic effectiveness of phosphate rock: a review Anais da ABC (AABC)
Arcand,Melissa M.; Schneider,Kim D..
Deficiency in plant-available phosphorus is considered to be a major limiting factor to food production in many agricultural soils. Mineral resources are necessary to restore soil phosphorus content. In regions where conventional fertilizers are not used due to cost limitations or to mitigate adverse environmental effects, local sources of phosphate rock are being increasingly recognized for potential use as alternative phosphorus fertilizers. The main obstacle associated with using directly applied ground phosphate rock is that the phosphate released is often unable to supply sufficient plant-available phosphorus for crop uptake. Plantand microbial-based mechanisms are low-cost, appropriate technologies to enhance the solubilization and increase the...

Farming with rocks and minerals: challenges and opportunities Anais da ABC (AABC)
Van Straaten,Peter.
In many parts of the world food security is at risk. One of the biophysical root causes of falling per-capita food production is the declining quality and quantity of soils. To reverse this trend and increase soil fertility soil and plant nutrients have to be replenished. This review provides a literature survey of experiences of using multi-nutrient rock fertilizers for soil fertility enhancement from temperate and tropical environments. Advantages and limitations of the application of rock fertilizers are discussed. Examples are provided from two successful nutrient replenishment projects in Africa where locally available rock fertilizers are used on highly leached acid soils. The potential of combining organic materials alongside rock fertilizers in...
