| Computational modeling, simulation and validation were carried out on Trombe wall solar chick brooder used for optimal poultry production. Predictive linear differential equations based on physical, mathematical principles and relationships governing thermo-physical properties of the components of the brooder were formulated, discretized and expressed in their finite different forms using SCILAB 5.5.2. | ABSTRACT Diarrheagenic (DEC) and avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) are associated with intestinal and extra-intestinal infections (ExPEC), respectively. We aimed to analyze the antimicrobial susceptibility, gene encoding virulence factors associated to DEC and APEC, and phylogenetic classification in E. coli isolated from 320 samples of feed and ingredients. Antimicrobial susceptibility was performed using the disk diffusion method and Multiple Antibiotic Resistance (MAR) Index and Multi-Drug Resistance (MDR) were calculated. | Concerning the reduction of preslaughter death losses, high temperature and relative humidity in the tropics are the major concerns regarding broiler survival prior slaughtering. However, the relationship between different lairage times under controlled environment and the thermal condition outside the holding area is still unclear. | ABSTRACT: Brazilian poultry industry generates large amounts of organic waste, such as chicken litter, which is often used in agriculture. Among the bacteria present in organic fertilizer are members of the Enterobacteriaceae family, such as Escherichia coli. The aim of this study was to analyze the profile of virulence factors and antimicrobial resistance of E. coli isolates from avian organic fertilizer. A total of 47 E. coli strains were tested through Polymerase chain reaction to detect virulence genes (hlyF, iss, ompT, iutA and iroN). Measurements of thermal comfort were made through the use of techniques such as the Black Globe and Humidity Index (BGHI), the Thermal Heat Load (THL) and Enthalpy (H). | O presente documento apresenta a consolidação do custo do avicultor para a produção de perus em Uberlândia, no ano de 2013. A metodologia utilizada baseia-se nos seguintes critérios: definição dos sistemas de produção mais representativos, levantamento de coeficientes técnicos e preços de mercado por meio de painel com especialistas e profissionais que atuam na cadeia produtiva e visitas às granjas produtoras. Estiveram presentes à reunião que definiu os parâmetros de cálculo representantes da Embrapa Suínos e Aves, do Sindicato da Indústria das Carnes (SINDICARNES) e da Associação dos Granjeiros Integrados do Triângulo Mineiro e Planalto. | Magyarország földrajzi fekvése miatt a fehérjeforrások beszerzési költségei magasabbak és a baromfihúsexport is költségesebb a szállítás miatt, de a fűtési és hűtési költségek is magasabbak, mint például Hollandiában, Brazíliában. A globalizáció kihívásai elől a magyar baromfiágazat sem térhet ki. Az árversenyben a nagy kapacitások, az olcsó munkaerő és az olcsó takarmány nagy előnyt jelent. A magyarországi alapanyag-termelés helyzetét nehezíti, hogy a gazdaságok döntő része nem rendelkezik földterülettel, vagyis nem képesek megtermelni a takarmányt, és gondot okoz a keletkezett trágya elhelyezése is. | The poultry industry is the most vertically integrated of U.S. agriculture and food production and is rapidly progressing toward being one of the most concentrated. In 2002, the top 15 broiler states accounted for 94.4% of U.S. production. From 1982-2002, the top four broiler firms had a fivefold increase in Ready-to-Cook (R-T-C) pounds, a tripling of plants and four-and eight-firm concentration ratio increases of 27.9% to 48.2% and 44.1% to 66.6%. In a broad sense, chicken became more affordable, appealing, and available; total R-T-C pounds increased from 234 to 663 million pounds between 1982 and 2002. |
