Ulinastatin attenuates vascular endothelial cell damage in pregnant women with severe pre-eclampsia Anais da ABC (AABC)
YU,ZHIQIANG; WANG,JIANBO; ZHANG,PEIJUN; DING,WEI.
Abstract: The use of ulinastatin for pancreatitis and sepsis have been described. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of ulinastatin on vascular endothelial cell damage and coagulation in pregnant women with severe pre-eclampsia (PE).From October 2015 to November 2017 at Tianjin Central Hospital of gynecology and obstetrics in China. Eighty pregnant women with severe PE, who elected to deliver by cesarean section, were randomly assigned to a control group or an ulinastatin group. The plasma concentration of von Willebrand factor (vWF) and platelet granule membrane protein (GMP-140), platelet count, fibrinogen levels, prothrombin time (PT), and partial prothrombin activation time (APTT) were recorded before combined spinal-epidural anesthesia and...

Oxidative stress is closely related to clinical severity of pre-eclampsia Biol. Res.
CHAMY,VERÓNICA M; LEPE,JAIME; CATALÁN,ÁLVARO; RETAMAL,DAVID; ESCOBAR,JORGE A; MADRID,EVA M.
Pre-eclampsia is a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy in which enzymatic antioxidant defenses fail and tissues are injured. This prospective case-control study evaluated whether pre-eclamptic women and their newborns show higher degrees of oxidative stress than normal pregnancies and sought to determine if this stress is related to clinical severity. Forty-four pre-eclamptic and thirty healthy pregnant women attending two hospitals in Valparaíso, Chile, were studied. The following plasmatic variables of antioxidant capacity were evaluated: glutathione peroxidase activity (GPx), total antioxidant capacity measured by oxidation of ABTS substrate (2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), and superoxide dismutase activity (SOD). malondialdehide...

Pre-eclampsia: a life-threatening pregnancy syndrom BABT
Brazdova,Andrea; Keprova,Alena; Zidkova,Jarmila; Madar,Jindrich.
Pre-eclampsia is a serious pathological state affecting 5-10% of pregnant women. Currently, it is diagnosed in the second half of pregnancy, particularly after the 20th week. Symptoms mostly correspond to the changes of blood vessels and kidneys. The severity of pre-eclampsia is proportional to symptomatic manifestations, thus the more symptoms present, the higher is of pre-eclampsia development. Although there are several studies dealing with pre-eclampsia pathology, the complete etiology is still unknown. In this review paper, several theories are presented and discussed.

Inflammatory and oxidative stress airway markers in premature newborns of hypertensive mothers BJMBR
Madoglio,R.J.; Rugolo,L.M.S.S.; Kurokawa,C.S.; Sá,M.P.A.; Lyra,J.C.; Antunes,L.C.O..
Although oxidative stress and inflammation are important mechanisms in the pathophysiology of preeclampsia and preterm diseases, their contribution to the respiratory prognosis of premature infants of hypertensive mothers is not known. Our objective was to determine the levels of oxidative stress and inflammation markers in the airways of premature infants born to hypertensive and normotensive mothers, in the first 72 h of life, and to investigate whether they are predictors of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)/death. This was a prospective study with premature infants less than 34 weeks’ gestation on respiratory support who were stratified into 2 groups: 32 premature infants of hypertensive mothers and 41 of normotensive women, with a mean gestational age...

Expression of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (ßhCG) in Pre-eclamptic Placenta International Journal of Morphology
Ekinci,C; Tahaoglu,A. E; Balsak,D; Deveci,E; Yavuz,D; Togrul,C; Karaman,E.
This study aimed to assess association between preeclampsia with trophoblast cells and serum level of b-human chorionic gonadotropin (ß-hCG). Were compared 20 patients with preeclampsia and 20 control patients with respect to demographics, hematological parameters and the presence of trophopblast in placental samples. Patchy necrosis with loss of microvilli and gross thinning of the syncytium with distorted microvilli were seen in terminal villi of placentae of women with pre-eclampsia Syncytial cells at the molecular level crossings, especially at the level of ßhCG in conjunction with the changes in the preeclampsia was made on the histopathological changes to clarify the villi.
