El uso de inoculantes microbianos es una alternativa viable para nutrir los cultivos e incrementar su productividad sin deteriorar el suelo. El objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar el efecto de inoculantes microbianos en el crecimiento y productividad de chile habanero (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) en invernadero. El estudio se realizó en Conkal, Yucatán, México, de septiembre a diciembre de 2012. Tres inoculantes y un testigo (sin aplicación de inoculante) fueron evaluados y con fertilización química comercial. ABSTRACT: Surfactants are chemical products widely used in our daily life in toothpaste and other personal hygiene and cosmetic products, and in several industries. Biosurfactants are surfactants of biological origin that can be produced by microorganisms and have many advantages, such as low toxicity and high biodegradability, compared to synthetic counterparts. Abstract Although quite controversial from the point of view of food safety, a considerable number of people across different age and socioeconomic groups consume raw goat’s milk. Even if refrigerated after milking, raw goat's milk may still be susceptible to the lipolytic and proteolytic actions of psychrotrophic microorganisms, such as Pseudomonas. In this study, Pseudomonas sp. from 21 refrigerated raw goat’s milk samples were characterized. All samples were freely commercialized, without any type of inspection, by small producers and markets from different regions of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Abstract Agaricus bisporus was washed with 1 g/L sodium chlorite (NaClO2) (SC) solution for 30, 60 and 120 s, packed with a non-perforated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film and stored at 4 °C for 12 days. Washing the mushrooms with the SC solution and packaging with the PVC film slowed down the change in colour and firmness of the mushrooms, but treating the mushrooms with the SC solution longer than 60 s adversely affected the mushroom texture. After 12 days of storage, the weight loss of the mushrooms packed with the PVC film was less than 10% compared to the control. Rizobactérias e promoção do crescimento de plantas cítricas Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo

Desenvolveram-se três experimentos em casa de vegetação para verificar a possibilidade de as rizobactérias atuarem como promotoras do crescimento de plantas cítricas. Ao todo, testaram-se 10 isolados de Pseudomonas do grupo fluorescente, 13 de Bacillus e sete de outras bactérias rizosféricas em porta-enxertos utilizados na citricultura: tangerineira 'Cleópatra' (Citrus reshni), limoeiro 'Cravo' (Citrus limonia) e limoeiro 'Volcameriano' (Citrus volkameriana). Dependendo do porta-enxerto, sete isolados de Pseudomonas, um de Bacillus e um de outra bactéria rizosférica tiveram efeito benéfico sobre a matéria seca de raízes ou de parte aérea, indicando uma alta proporção de promotores de crescimento entre as bactérias do primeiro grupo. ABSTRACT: Enhancing the plant rhizosphere microbial community function by increasing plant diversity in the field is a promising strategy for enhancing agricultural sustainability. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the intercropping of wheat in controlling cucumber Fusarium wilt disease. Bacterial community diversity and abundance in cucumber rhizosphere were estimated by high-throughput amplicon sequencing and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
