| Motmuggen vormen een vast onderdeel van de fauna van de bebouwde omgeving. De larven leven veelal van organisch afval en de mugjes worden dan ook vaak in en om afvalbakken gezien. Het voorkomen van de verschillende soorten in deze biotoop worden besproken aan de hand van lichtvondsten van de auteur in Soest en door diverse personen binnenshuis verzamelde monsters, aangevuld met enkele handvangsten. Enkele taxonomische problemen binnen het genus Psychoda worden toegelicht en het overzicht over de verspreiding van de exoot Clogmia albipunctata wordt geactualiseerd. | This paper presents a specimen of phlebotomine sand fly with a bilateral anomaly in the style. Although such anomaly be rare in this group of insects, it may cause confusion in taxonomic identification and even lead to description of new species, increasing the number of synonymies. The specimen was measured and compared with the holotype and four paratypes of Micropygomyia schreiberi (Martins, Falcão & Silva, 1975) and confirmed that it belongs, in fact, to this species. |

| Nine Neotropical species of Bruchomyia Alexander, 1920 have been previously described, all from South America. A new species of this rare genus, collected in caverns of the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil, is described and named Bruchomyia mineira sp. nov. The new species is morphologically similar to B. argentina Alexander, 1920, but they can be differentiated from each other by characters of the eyes, M2 vein and base of gonostylus. |

| En Colombia están registradas 143 especies de Lutzomyia França, pero menos del 7% de éstas se encuentran incriminadas como vectores de Leishmania spp. Debido a la alta semejanza morfológica de algunas especies vectoras con otras no vectoras, se necesitan caracteres taxonómicos alternativos para identificar correctamente los flebotomíneos de cada zona geográfica del país. | La familia Psychodidae incluye pequeños dípteros nematóceros de distribución cosmopolita. Phlebotominae, en virtud de su importancia sanitaria, ha recibido una adecuada atención y han sido descriptas más de 400 especies para América del Sur. Por el contrario, la contraparte no Phlebotominae de la familia ha sido pobremente estudiada y su conocimiento en la región es escaso. El conocimiento de las Psychodidae no Phlebotominae en la Argentina es escaso, ya que el mismo se restringe a 19 especies agrupadas en 9 géneros. | A sandfly survey was carried out in 100 x 150 m patches of primary forest submitted to recent deforestation in order to determine its species composition 10-30 days after clearing. The following collecting methods were used: CDC traps whit black light; Malaise traps placed at 0.5, 1, 5 and 10m up from the the soil surface; Pennsylvania traps whit black light; Malaise traps, tree-base catches and human baits. A total of 2810 specimens of Lutzomyia França, 1924 and one species of Brumptomyia França & Parrot, 1921, were collected. | Como parte do programa do laboratorio de Parasitología do INPA, na procura dos vetores e reservatórios da Leishmaniose, foi realizado durante o periodo de 1978 até 1981, um levantamento da fauna flebotomínica, em oito localidades da Rodovia BR-319 (Manaus-Humaita). Capturamos 57 espécies: 44 do gênero Lutzomyiae 13 de Psychodopygus. Os métodos de coleta usados foram: capturas nos troncos das árvores, isca humana e armadilhas luminosas, o método mais eficiente foi o da armadilha luminosa colocada a 6 metros de altura na floresta. As espécies mais comuns foram L. antunesi, P. chagasie P. ayrozai.Dados sobre a distribuição geográfica das espécies coletadas e a distribuição por coletas são também assinalados. |
