Clés de détermination des thecosomata (peropoda) (mollusca opisthobranchia holoplanctoniques) de méditerranée et de l'atlantique eurafricain 5
Rampal, Jeannine.
A double identification key is presented. The first one discusses all the Thecosomata of the Mediterranean sea and the Eurafrican Atlantic ocean. The second one discusses bilateral symetric Mediterranean Thecosomata without shells. Additionnaly, the main other Thecosomata groups from the rest of the World are presented.

Peraclis valdiviae from the Banda Sea (Mollusca, Pteropoda) 16
Spoel, S. van der.
The shell of Peraclis valdiviae (Meisenheimer, 1905) from Banda Sea specimens proved to be of a slender Peraclis bispinosa-like type. The specimens showed a very shallow distribution in the Banda Sea due to relatively high deep-water temperatures and vertical mixing.

Clio piatkowskii, a mesopelagic pteropod new to science (Gastropoda, Opisthobranchia) 16
Spoel, S. van der; Schalk, P.H.; Bleeker, J..
A pteropod species new to science: Clio piatkowskii is described from benthopelagic samples taken in high Antarctic waters of the Weddell Sea. Comparisons with related species are made and its taxonomic place in the genus Clio is discussed.

From Cavolinia longirostris to twenty-four Diacavolinia taxa, with a phylogenetic discussion (Mollusca, Gastropoda) 16
Spoel, S. van der; Bleeker, J.; Kobayasi, H..
The six already known infraspecific taxa in Cavolinia longirostris (De Blainville, 1821), presently in the genus Diacavolinia, are raised to species rank and sixteen species and two formae new to science are described in this genus from different oceanic areas. Some shell structures in the Cavoliniinae are described for the first time and the phylogeny of the group is discussed.

Eocene to Miocene holoplanktonic Mollusca (Gastropoda) of the Aquitaine Basin, southwest France 16
Cahuzac, B.; Janssen, A.W..
Holoplanktonic Mollusca collected from c. 60 localities in Cenozoic (Eocene-Ypresian to Miocene-Serravallian) rocks of the Aquitaine Basin (southwest France) are represented by 75 taxa: five supposed Heteropoda (Pterotracheoidea) and 70 Pteropoda (69 Thecosomata, one Gymnosomata). All Heteropoda and 19 species of the Pteropoda had to be included in open nomenclature or with a query. Twelve species of pteropods are described as new to science: Heliconoides daguini sp. nov., H. merlei sp. nov., H. pyrenaica sp. nov. and Limacina? vegrandis sp. nov. from the Ypresian; Creseis antoni sp. nov. and Vaginella gaasensis sp. nov. from the Rupelian; Clio lozoueti sp. nov. and Clio vasconiensis sp. nov. from the Chattian; Diacrolinia cluzaudi sp. nov., from the...

Thecosomata e Gymnosomata (Mollusca, Gastropoda) da cadeia Fernando de Noronha, Brasil 104
Larrazábal,Maria Eduarda de; Oliveira,Valdeni Soares de.
The Mollusca Pteropoda from Fernando de Noronha Chain Northeastern Brazil were studied in order to know their taxonomy and distribution. Collections were carried out during the I Oceanographical Expedition of the REVIZEE Program (Live Resources of the Economical Exclusive Zone) from August to September 1995. The studied area is located between 03°04'S-04°23'S and 32°19'W-36°26'W, comprising 35 stations. Sampling was performed through oblique hauls from 50m depth to surface and from 100 m depth to surface, with a Bongo net (300 and 500 µm mesh size, net diameter: 60 cm), that was equipped with a flow meter. Samples in a total of 99 were preserved, immediately, in buffered 4% formaldehyde. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of the samples were performed...

Pteropoda studies were carried out offshore São Pedro and São Paulo Archipelago (0º56'2"N e 29º20'6"W) to assess biodiversity and spatial distribution. A Bongo net (mesh size 300 micrometer) was hauled obliquely from a depth between 0 and 50 m and Oand 100 m by the REVIZEE-SCORE/NE I oceanographic expedition on board of the Brazilian Navy Oceanographic Ship Antares. Samples were collected at 16 stations from September to October 1995. A total of 880 organisms distributed in 20 species, 14 genera and 9 families were identified. At the layer 0-50 m, Creseis virgula (Rang (828) was the most frequent species (71.43%), followed by Limacina inflata (Orbigny, (836) and Cavolinia inflexa (Lesueur, 18(3) (64.28%, each). ln terms of relative abundance outranked L....
