Variation in the Origin of the Testicular Arteries and Drainage of the Right Testicular Vein International Journal of Morphology
Singh,Royana; Jaiswal,Amit; Shamal,S. N; Singh,S. P.
During routine dissection of a 42 year old male Indian cadaver posterior abdominal wall, variations in the testicular vessels were observed. The right testicular artery arose from the right accessory renal artery, which originated from the ventral aspect of the abdominal aorta. The left testicular artery originated from the ventral aspect of the aorta in almost the same horizontal line as the right accessory renal artery, just below the superior mesenteric artery and 1.79 cm, above the origin of the renal arteries. The right vein drained into the right accessory renal vein instead of the inferior vena cava, while the left testicular vein drained into the left renal vein. The presence of variation of both the testicular arteries as well as the testicular...

Three Rare Variations in the Course of the Gonadal Artery International Journal of Morphology
Bandopadhyay,Manimay; Saha,Anubha.
The gonadal arteries, lateral branches of the abdominal aorta, usually arise distal to the renal vessels. Knowledge of the origin and course of them, particularly their relationships with renal vessels, are important for uncomplicated surgical procedures on the posterior abdominal wall. So the relationship of the testicular artery and renal vessels were studied in 80 cadavers in Calcutta National Medical College, India and detected three rare variations. We have discussed the possible clinical implications and embryological explanation with review of literature of those variations.

Morphological Characterization of the Renal Arteries in the Pig: Comparative Analysis with the Human International Journal of Morphology
Gómez,Fabian Alejandro; Ballesteros,Luis Ernesto; Estupiñan,Hernando Yesid.
In spite of its importance as an experimental model, information on therenal artery inpigs is scarce. The objective of this work was to determine the morphological characteristics of the renal artery (RA) and its branches in pigs. One hundred and twenty one (121) pairs of kidneys of pigs destined to slaughter by stunning were studied. The RA and its branches were perfused with polyester resin (Palatal 85 % t Styrene 15 %)and subjected to KOH infusion (potassium hydroxide) for total corrosion. Calibers were measured, and trajectories and relations with adjacent arterial structures were evaluated.Continuous variables were assessed with Student's t test, and discrete variables with Pearson's chi square test. The significance level used was p<0.05. The origin...

Morphological Expression of the Renal Artery: A Direct Anatomical Study in a Colombian Half-caste Population International Journal of Morphology
Saldarriaga,Bladimir; Pinto,Sergio A; Ballesteros,Luis E.
Irrigation of the kidneys is usually provided by a single renal artery; however, variations on this pattern have frequently been reported. This study was aimed at establishing the renal arteries' frequency and morphological characteristics in cadaverous material taken from a half-caste population from Bucaramanga (Colombia). The sample included 195 renal blocks corresponding to 57 (14.6%) kidneys from females and 333 (85.4%) from males. The renal arteries were injected with synthetic resin (palatal GP41L); following the resin's polymerization, the renal blocks were placed in KOH solution for corrosion the renal parenchyma. The individuals from whom the renal blocks, 74.9% of the kidneys presented renal arteries single and 25.1% had additional renal...
