Relationship of rice disease epidemics and climate change for study the effect of climate change on the disease epidemics and pathogens. Cultivated rice variety RD31 and RD41 every month since January 2012 - December 2013; observed disease incidence and disease severity in seedling, tillering and panicle stage. The results showed that found rice diseases all months in RD31 and RD41 such as bacterial leaf blight disease (BLB), brown spot disease, narrow brown spot disease, dirty panicle disease, false smut disease, orange leaf disease, rice grassy stunt disease and ragged stunt disease. BLB is the major disease in these areas and found almost year in tillering to panicle stage. Severe epidemics in August and December. BLB infected RD41 more than RD31, that...

Thai Agricultural

Pellet formulation bioproduct of Trichoderma harzianum 01-52 were evaluated for the efficacy to reduce dirty panicle disease and to increase the yield of rice in non- chemical pesticides using fields in Kanchanaburi province, compared with the Trichoderma untreated control. Rice seeds (Chai Nat 1) were soaked in spore suspension of T. harzianum 01-52 (100 g/100 l) for 24 hrs. The soaked seeds were incubated for another 24 hrs before sowing in the rice field. Rice plants were sprayed with Trichoderma spore suspension (100 g/100 l/rai or 1,600 m2) at 40, 60 and 80 days after sowing. In some treatment, Trichoderma pellets were also used in combination with chemical fertilizer for broadcasting at the rate 10 kg/rai (or 1,600 m2). The results indicated that all...

การแยกเชื้อและลักษณะของเชื้อ Azospirillum จากรากข้าว Thai Agricultural
Jarunee Mejuice; Naruemon Uthakur; Savit Mejuice.
Azospirillum is consider to be plant-growth promoting bacteria (PGPR) associated with rice and stimulate plant growth by promoting nutrition by the process of biological nitrogen fixation. The aim of this study was to isolate and characterise of Azospirillum from root rice varieties. The morphology, physiology and biochemistry properties of the bacteria were tested. The result showed that the bacterial isolates of Azospirillum from three rice varieties; Khao Dawk Mali 105, Sew Mae Jan and RD 6 were Azospirillum brasilense and Azospirillum amazonense. The combined properties of the two species were discussed to be used for beneficial application of microbial fertilizer. 

Effects of climate change on disease epidemics in the eastern area were studied during 2011-2013. This study consists of 2 activities, the first activity was monitoring the outbreak of rice diseases in farmer field’s network. The occurrence of rice blast was found every year and the highest disease severity was 40 percent in January 2013. The highest of rice bacterial blight and bacterial leaf streak severity were 90 percent in September 2012 and 40 percent in July 2012, respectively. The second activity was studying the relationship between rice diseases epidemics and climate change at Chachoengsao Rice Research Center. Phisanulok 2 and Chinat 1 rice varieties were planted every month throughout the year. Rice diseases were randomly assessed at...

Angkana Kantajun; Suwat Jearakongman; Weerasak Hormsombut; Kunlayaa Boonsanga.
Blast and bacterial leaf blight diseases are major diseases, which cause severe losses to yield and quality of rice in north eastern region. An evaluation of reaction of rice cultivars/lines to blast and bacterial leaf blight is one of the activities under the program of germplasm improvement in north eastern region with the objective of selecting for the rice lines resistant to leaf and neck blast and to bacterial leaf blight. The experiments were carried out in 2013 at Sakon Nakorn Rice Research Centre using 99 rainfed lowland rice lines and 35 irrigated rice lines. An evaluation of leaf blast at seedling stage was conducted under the upland, short-row conditions. An evaluation of neck blast was conducted at flowering stage by spraying a spore suspension...
