A crinoid crown from the Wenlock (Silurian) of Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, England Naturalis
Donovan, S.K.; Lewis, D.N..
The specific diversity of fossil crinoids from the Much Wenlock Limestone Formation at Dudley, Worcestershire, and in Shropshire differ by an order of magnitude. The latter are relatively depauperate and include only about six nominal species. Over 165 years ago, a specimen from Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, was identified as Cyathocrinites tuberculatus Miller (= the taxocrinid flexible Protaxocrinus tuberculatus (Miller)). This specimen, although indifferently preserved, is distinct from other Silurian crinoids of the British Isles and is described herein as a monobathrid camerate, Macrostylocrinus? jefferiesi sp. nov. This species has a moderately large, conical dorsal cup with at least 20 arms, broad primibrachials, a granular surface sculpture and no ray...

A field guide to the Silurian Echinodermata of the British Isles: Part 1 - Eleutherozoa and Rhombifera Naturalis
Lewis, D.N.; Donovan, S.K.; Crabb, P.; Gladwell, D.J..
The Palaeozoic echinoderms of the British Isles are most diverse in the Silurian and Lower Carboniferous. This guide discusses and illustrates members of all major groups of echinoderms, apart from the crinoids, from the Silurian of these islands. Groups considered include the echinoids (five taxa), ophiuroids (ten taxa) and asteroids (thirteen taxa), and the extinct ophiocistioids (three species) and rhombiferan cystoids (nine species).

Early Silurian (Rhuddanian) brachiopods from the Argentine Precordillera and their biogeographic affinities Ameghiniana
Benedetto,Juan L.; Cocks,L. Robin M..
A brachiopod fauna dominated by Hindella crassa (J. de C. Sowerby), and also including an indeterminate pseudolinguloid, Leangella (Leangella) america sp. nov., Eoplectodonta (Eoplectodonta) duplicata (J. de C. Sowerby), Fardenia sp., Glyptorthis vidari (Baarli)., Dolerorthis plicata (J. de C. Sowerby), an indeterminate giraldiellid, Dalmanella sp., and Stegerhynchus pusillum (J. de C. Sowerby), is described from the La Chilca Formation exposed at Mogotes Azules, San Juan Province, Argentina. The age of the fauna is Early Silurian (Llandovery: Rhuddanian) and it is compared with other Rhuddanian brachiopod faunas both from Gondwana and elsewhere. The brachiopod faunas of Gondwana, despite their relatively low diversity, had much in common with those from...
