Soleidae et Cynoglossidae (Pleuronectiformes) de l'île de la Réunion (Océan Indien) : description d'une nouvelle espèce ArchiMer
Quero, Jean-claude.
The present study includes the specimens recently caught and those recorded in the literature. A new species is described: Parachirus diringeri sp. n. and a new record for the area is indicated: Cynoglossus lachneri. Solea Borbonica Regan, 1905 is redescribed and assigned to the genus Soleichthys Bleeker, 1860. NOT CONTROLLED OCR

Etude preliminaire des equilibres de distribution de l'eau et des ions au cours de l'ovogenese de Solea solea ArchiMer
Gallis, J; Lemenn, F; Lebrun, A; Nunez, R.
During oogenesis of Solea solea L., gonadal changes in water, Na super(+) and K super(+) ions seem to be related to yolk protein incorporation by the oocyte. The decrease in oocyte water accumulation, associated with an increase in pericellular water accumluation and a decrease in K super(+) concentration occurs when vitellogenin enters the oocyte. Na super(+) concentration decreases in the oocyte at the end of the exogenous vitellogenesis when the first stages of the oocyte maturation take place. Water accumulation in the pericellular space during vitellogenesis allows the rapid transfer of water from this compartment into the oocyte during the terminal phase of maturation. However the total amount of gonadal water remains stable.

Etude de la composition corporelle de la sole (Solea solea ) au cours du jeune: Influence de la temperature ArchiMer
Richard, P; Djabali, M; Lagardere, Francoise; Lagardere, J.
The effects of starvation on Solea solea at 10 and 20 degree C in sea water, were studied. At 20 degree C fishes start to die on week 4; at 10 degree C they support a longer starvation period (9 weeks). Proximate analysis shows that protein are more steadily used at 20 degree C than at 10 degree C, contrarily to the corporal lipids which are used at the same rate. Starvation results in a reduction of liver lipids and glycogen. This reduction is more pronounced at 20 degree C : 70% of hepatic glycogen is used at this temperature within the first week of starvation against 30% at 10 degree C.

Parasitic infection of sole Solea solea by Prosorhynchus spp. metacercariae (Digenea, Bucephalidae) in Atlantic nurseries under mussel cultivation influence ArchiMer
Laffargue, Pascal; Baudouin, G; Sasal, P; Arnaud, Christophe; Begout, Marie-laure; Lagardere, Francoise.
Cysts of metacercariae were obtained on 2 dates from juvenile sole Solea solea sea-sampled in an area of mussel cultivation (Pertuis Charentais, Bay of Biscay, France). An initial assessment of parasite genus and infestation level was based on 192 cysts extracted from 2 fish samples, taken in August (n = 20) and December 2000 (n = 14). Our results confirmed the sole as second intermediate host of bucephalid trematodes of the genus Prosorhynchus, which has not previously been noticed in Atlantic stocks. Prevalence, ca. 65% on both dates, indicated an substantial infestation of these small fish, with a mean abundance of parasites increasing from August (3.3 +/- 1.1) to December (8.1 +/- 3.4). Cysts were localised in all body parts of the host, and...

Soleidae de Madagascar ArchiMer
Quero, Jean-claude; Desoutter, M.
Among 17 specimens of Soleidae recently collected from the waters of Madagascar is one species new to science (Bathysolea lagarderae). Two species are first records from Madagascar (Aseraggodes cyaneus and Microchirus ocelialUs). Other species represented in the collections are Aesopia cornuta, Pardachirus marmoratus and Pardachirus morrowi. A key to species of Bathysolea is presented. NOT CONTROLLED OCR
