| The identity of hitherto doubtful specific names in Nepticulidae has been established on the basis of type material where possible, or after a critical reexamination of the original descriptions. In addition a few previously synonymized names have been reevaluated. The identity of 17 names could be firmly established: 15 are synonymized with senior, well known names, two are senior synonyms to previously used names: Stigmella sakhalinella Puplesis (= S. discidia Schoorl & Wilkinson syn. nov.) and Trifurcula subnitidella (Duponchel) comb. nov. (= Trifurcula griseella Wolff syn. nov.). Two names are tentatively synonymized.
