| Although many times the new values of rural category has been emphasized in the literature, rural areas show significant disadvantages in general. As a main reason, in Hungary - partly due to the political and economical transition - the role of agriculture in employment has been notably decreased. In Hungary the changing role of agriculture, the rural unemployment and the territorial distribution of unemployment were analyzed numbers of times in the last decades, while there were no researches in agricultural unemployment and it’s territorial characteristics.
